And, if they made the finals twice without Jordan, then you're gonna have to consider who their competition was in the East at that time, not just take their accomplishment in a vacuum. Cav's made it to the finals last year, but got blown the fuck out. Bulls wasn't winners without MJ.
The Eastern Conference's era that included Ewing's Knicks, Zo's Heat, and Shaq and Penny's Magic was much stronger than what Lebron and the Cavs had to go through last season. No question about it.

Another small reason - I wouldn't draw a play up for Duncan to take the game winning shot. He can create his own move in the post, but a center would never be a clutch shooter.
I agree. But what other big men aside from maybe Russell and Chamberlain would you want taking the game-winning shot, anyway?

Shaq is a better center than Duncan. Is Shaq "near Jordan"?
In my humble opinion, yes, Shaw is definitely near "Jordan Status".

I guess "near Jordan" means anyone that's a great player to you guys. Took me a while to figure out your definition, but I got it.

You guys should be GM's. You'd have a squad full of "near Jordan's".
