Former NBA star Latrell Sprewell had his yacht repossessed by the bank holding the loan on the 70-foot, $1.5 million vessel, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported Wednesday.

According to the report, a U.S. Marshal armed with an order from U.S. Magistrate Judge William E. Callahan Jr., seized the yacht, the "Milwaukee's Best," in Manitowoc, Wisc., about 80 miles north of Milwaukee on the shore of Lake Michigan.

The bank has claimed in federal court that the owner, LSF Marine Holdings, a company run by Sprewell, has failed to make monthly payments of $10,322 in a timely fashion and has not maintained the necessary insurance on the vessel, according to the report.

The bank wants the "Milwaukee's Best" sold to pay off the $1.3 million it says is remaining on the loan, according to the Journal-Sentinel.

The newspaper said it could not reach Sprewell for comment.

Sprewell last played in the NBA in 2004-05 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He famously turned down that team's three-year, $21 million contract offer, telling a reporter for the Star Tribune of Minneapolis: "They're not doing anything for me. I'm at risk. I have a lot of risk here. I got my family to feed. Anything could happen."

Sprewell, a swingman, played 13 seasons in the NBA for the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks and Timberwolves, averaging 18.3 points per game.

That's sad.

thats not sad!

it's idiotic!

I feel NO sadness for someone who squanders away millions and doesn't repay thier debts.

I don't make millions yet I have to repay my debts..how are they any different?

^^

yeah I hope not. He turned down 7 mil a year on the downside of his career to "feed his family".

He is a prime example of why people have no sympathy for "spoiled" athletes

Why would you hate someone because they think their value is worth more then what a team offered.

Foyle was making 8 per year. There tons of players making 10+ mill that dont deserve it.........

He's an idiot for what he said but he's not an idiot for thinking he's worth more. If he didnt choke PJ, he probably could've gotten more........

lol what a stupid ass. Are muthafuckas hiring hammer's accountants or something? How the fuck do you go from a multi millionaire to defaulting on loans. Matter fact, if you got all that money, why the fuck you need a loan?

Everyone sets their own value for anything they do. Some people undervalue themselves and some overvalue themselves. Its the way the world works. You feel the work doesnt match the pay, then you dont have to work. Its that simple. And you really think he doesnt have the money to pay for it? And I bet you believe all these actors and millionaires that dont pay their taxes are broke too.

Do you guys take everything that people say literally? Him saying he has to feed his children (bad choice of words) was just a figure of speech. Do you really think he cant feed his children with the money he already has? He couldve used that 21 mil but I doubt he was hurting for it.

He was old and felt he wasnt going to play for under what he thought he deserved. If you made $80,000 a year and then one day werent worth that much, would you go work for 10 dollars an hour just because you can work? Nope, you take your retirement and say fuck everyone else.
