J-Locc, I feel everything you said dawg, and that's why, like I said, I fuck with my own production team. I mean, of course if I'ma be featured on some shit, or where we gotta do a track for an album like the one we supposed to lay down for FILLMOE TO SAN JO, I'm not gonna be like, "I wanna be there when the beat is made". But when it comes down to my own projects, that's how I want it done, and that's how my team wants it done as well.
I learned with Larry K, A LOT...I learned mixing techniques and all kinds of shit, just by watching. BUT, I also learned that when you're on somebody else's time, it's gonna take twice as long, because they can fuck around and give excuses as to why they cancelled your session. So, we went out, got our own shit...Right now we got these 3 producers...Peter Parker (Produced West Coast Love on my album), Uncle Jon and Killah Mo (Who make up the other 2/3 of P.O.F). These 3 cats have a tremendous amount of talent, and they know what beats will cater to my style, and to the group style. Now, nobody gets paid for the beats, but we all put in on the equipment...and we all get cut from sales and what not, and we all chip in for mastering, it's all fair game now right? Not to mention, there's been over 100 beats made within the past 2 months, and the number keeps rising!! We go into the studio, they start making a beat and I start writing to it...that's my whole point...I can't fuck with these other fuck offs with no heart.
