Again the trade is dead so yall get over it!! I could care less if it did happen cause they still wont be no title contenders!! U need more than just Kobe & Garnett to beat the likes of Phoenix, San Antonio etc.... Got Em!!!

looks like the lakers are gonna get aced out in the KG race

Kevin Garnett went so far as to talk to Kobe Bryant about the two stars playing together on the Los Angeles Lakers. He might want to give Steve Nash a call.

ESPN's Jim Gray reported on Tuesday night that a league source said that the latest trade scenario has Garnett landing in Phoenix with the Suns.

Three teams are involved in these discussions, with the Suns getting Garnett, the Celtics picking up Phoenix forward Shawn Marion and the Wolves acquiring the fifth pick in Thursday's draft and players from Boston.

This development comes after ESPN's Ric Bucher reported earlier on Tuesday that talks between the Lakers and Wolves concerning Garnett had broken down. The Lakers had reportedly offered a package containing at least forward Lamar Odom and center Andrew Bynum.

The current trade is basically contingent on whether Marion would agree to a contract extension with the Celtics, Gray reported. Marion can opt out of his contract after the 2007-08 season. The Suns have spoken to Marion about the deal.

The Suns and Wolves spoke about a Garnett trade last week, and according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein, Marion told Phoenix that he would not want to play for Minnesota or Boston.

Sources have told Stein that Garnett and Nash have become good friends in recent years. Garnett, a 10-time All-Star, has told the Wolves that he wants to play for a warm weather team that has a legitimate chance to win the championship.

Garnett can also opt out of his contract after the coming season, prompting talks that the Timberwolves refused to entertain for years.

Jim Gray is a reporter for ESPN. Ric Bucher covers the NBA for ESPN The Magazine. Marc Stein is the senior NBA writer for ESPN.com.

WE NEED TO PUT FARMAR INTO DISCUSSION TOO. HES YOUNG AND HAS TREMENDOUS UPSIDE AND AS MUCH AS I HATE TO SAY THIS IF WE CAN GET K.G. FOR HIM AND LAMAR THEN GO ON AND DO IT. THEN MAKE A PUSH FOR CHAUNCY.
What are you saying? You hate to say it? I would throw Farmar in the trashcan if we could get even a half-decent player. He did an ok job for his first year but he was still pretty weak. Sure he can improve, but who can't? Lakers have a bunch of young "improving" players that aren't doing shit.

That trade will break down just like the Lakers one, Garnet in Phoenix? That's exactly what the Timberwolves need. and that 3 team trade has them getting a trade pick and wack players from the celtics? WTF? That's a better deal than Odom/Bynum/Draft pick?

Well first off Minnesota will be rebuilding so by the time they get good Garnett will be declining and secondly where do u get the Celtics from?? they arent involved in this proposed deal. They would get the #3 pick and the #11 pick from Atlanta!! Thats way better than Odom & Bynum homie!! Sorry but just face facts that Kobe will get no help and he wants out and will sit out if he isnt traded!! Got Em!!!

The latest rumor has Jermaine O'Neal going to the Lakers.

From espn.com

Lakers Shift To O'Neal
Jun 27 - With their bid to land Minnesota's Kevin Garnett all but dead, which can't make Kobe Bryant very happy, the Lakers yesterday restarted trade talks with Indiana about acquiring Jermaine O'Neal.

"O'Neal is available and the Lakers are interested," said an Eastern Conference GM last night. "That's what's being discussed now." -- New York Daily News

# Larry Bird said the Pacers have fielded calls about Jermaine O'Neal's availability but haven't initiated discussions about their All-Star forward, who is scheduled to make $64 million over the next three seasons. O'Neal may opt out of his contract after the 2007-08 season.

Bird said he talked to Timberwolves vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale, a former teammate in Boston, but not to the other teams. Teams will likely continue to call about O'Neal.

"He's an awfully good player, and any time you have a player of his caliber you have to be careful," Bird said. "If you do trade, you have to make sure you get something back." -- Indianapolis Star

I don't think Jermaine is all that.

And Phoenix would be stupid to give up Marion and Stoudemire just to get Garnett.

^^^Agree 100%. Phoenix would be stupid to part ways with Stoudemire. And LA would have to give up Odom and possibly Bynum to get O'Neal, which would be another bad deal imo

Cuzz you are misinformed....stop believing everything you read on espn. Suns aint trading Amare for Garnett..you think the Suns are stupid or something? Amare is 24yrs old and Garnett is 32yrs old and past his prime on the downward of his career, he has maybe 3 or 4 good years left, whereas Amare got 8 to 9 years of good bball in him.

They trading Marion.... he is gonna be out of Phoenix in 2 years anyway when his contract is up so they gonna get something for him...like KG

Trading Amare for KG doesn't make the Suns any better it actually will hurt them...

MINNESOTA WONT TRADE UNLESS AMARE IS IN THE DEAL. THATS THE REASON THIS TRADE AINT GO DOWN YET. MINNESOTA WANTS AMARE AND MARION DOESNT WANNA PLAY FOR MINNESOTA. IT AINT HAPPENIN
