These cats are running an independent label; 19th and Holloway Rechords. We are in the process of formulating an urban style
compilation CD, which we will release, promote and distribute. The A&R deparment needs Bay Area urban artists (hip-hop/soul/R&B) to
submit a finished (mixed and mastered) product of original material, not previously released.

What we are offering if your music is chosen:

•Ability to appear on a compilation CD
•Possible radio, in-store and performance opportunities throughout San Francisco. Record release party to follow.
•Publicity from Propaganda Extravaganza, a private contractor (250 stores in Bay Area)
•Guaranteed single copy of finished compilation CD/promotional package.

Maybe some of u punk Tru haters can sell one
unit this way!!!!
The Following is required:

•CD with up to 2 tracks, if not, specify clearly which tracks to be considered (max. 2 and no track longer than 5 minutes).
•$10 non-refundable application fee per CD. Make check or money orders out to 19th and Holloway Rechords.
•Availability for possible performances/radio appearances/in-stores/release party.
•Must be received by February 28, 2003.

How many times can you submit a tape....I sent mines in 32 times wit a check for $320.00 is that o.k?

what type of distribution will the compilation have ?
cause there are other compilations taking submissions with alot more detail on distribution.

and you aint gotta pay $10, lol.

not to sound harsh, but ain't nobody checking for comps anymore. Especially retail. You might have been able to get away with a comp a few years ago but not anymore. The way in 2003 is if you have a bigger name present it. Even then retailers are getting hip to that too.

But let me reitterate; A comp without a recognizable name attached on a indi label no one has heard of ain't gonna do shit.

It sound like this label is trying to do something similar to what the Outlawz are doing except the Outlawz are charging artists featured on their comps for copies of the comp that they can slang.

they was on craigslist with this bullshit as promo thing.. i emailed them and asked them these same ass questions..why the hell would i pay YOU to submit MY shit to MAYBE get on a comp..that prolyl wont ever come out

TruGayzn...why the fuck would we pay some nothin' ass label to get a song from us? If anything, it should be the other way around. I'd have no problem submitting a track for an album for free, cause I'm not really that known yet. BUT, since y'all wanna charge cats to SUBMIT a track, fuck y'all. If that's how it's gonna be, I'll pay y'all $10, and before I send my tracks I expect to see a $300 check from you fucks, how bout that?
