Nah, my top 5 not in particular order:

Steve Nash
Chauncey Billups
Jason Kidd
Carmelo Anthony
Elton Brand

Honorable mentions:
Chris Paul
Dwyane Wade
Kobe Bryant
LeBron James
Ron Artest (if he was traded before the season he'd be mentioned in the top 5)

an MVP makes the players around him better.. and with that in mind, there's only one player that can give every player on his team career seasons. I dont need to say his name.

I say he's the most valuable... and right behind him is LeBron James, Steve Nash. It could go either way though.... but LeBron has better players around him so it makes Kobe a little more valuable.

Not a very strong argument, you could say the same for Redd. Also, they have Lamar Odom who has significantly digressed because of Kobe. Without Kobe they are still a potential playoff team.

KOBE IS HAVING ONE OF THE BEST SEASONS ANY PLAYER HAS HAD, ITS NO CONTEST.
Yes he is having a great individual season, but if you want to go by stats heres him vs Lebron.

Kobe 34.8 ppg 5.3 reb 4.6 assists 44.6 fg% 1.8 steals
Lebron 31.5 ppg 7.3 reb 6.7assists 48 fg% 1.6 steals

That's 2 more rebounds and assists, scoring a little less on better percentage. I'll take that any day over Kobe.

its gonna break down to this: teammates, individual stats, and opponents. lebron clearly has the better teammates. kobe is pretty much the only reason for the lakers going to the playoffs. individual stats are close but ppg is still the main stat. kobe is wayyy more clutch than lebron. kobe is in 1 of the toughest divisons. lebron is in the weak east conf.

HELL NAW I WOULDNT TAKE LEBRON OVER KOBE CUZ LEBRON SUCKZ UNDER PRESSURE...WE ALL SEEN IT HE CANT HANDLE THE PRESSURE....HE'LL LEARN HOW 2 DO IT LATER ON...BUT RIGHT NOW, THIS SEASON, KOBE IS THE MVP OF THE LEAGUE. NO DOUBT.

Only thing Kobe did this season thats been "amazing" is put up a lot of high scoring games. Other than that, he really didnt do nothing. He got his team to the playoffs, so what? All the other MVP candidates got their teams to the playoffs too. Not to mention that the Lakers are only a 7th seed. If he ever starts to make the players around him better, then he should be a serious candidate for MVP. Until then, putting up a lot of 35+ point games and catchin one of the last spots in the playoffs wont do it.

Kobe should def be MOST VALUABLE PLAYER...mvp is an INDIVIDUAL award and should not be automatically given to the player whos team is in first place because chances are if they are in first (pistons, suns, etc) there is a group of guys doing it not just one.

Reread that...now realize what you just said. With kobe scoring 35 a game the lakers are still just the 7th seed. Now you're trying to say if they take away Kobe that they're gonna make it? You have got to be kidding yourself.
