There would be reason to believe. That is not the case in Detroit. It wouldn't be the case in Oakland either.

Now if Tom Brady came out and predicted at least 10 wins there would be reason to believe it. But if Charlie Frye came out and predicted 10 wins.. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't find any reason to buy into it whether I was a Browns fan or not. Same with Detroit.. They consistantly suck nuts. What makes you think they will turn it around? Their offense will put up just enough points for their defense to lose the game for them.

What is needed is talent. This is not some underdog movie here.. Passion is not what is going to win them 10 games.
If teams like Detroit, Cleveland, Oakland don't believe they can win 10,11,12 games then they won't win them. That's probably why teams like those suck nuts because they don't believe they can win that many games. I personally believe that Detroit will cause major problems next year and when your qb is confident as Kitna is in the offense, players (Calvin Johnson), scheme (Martz) I don't see why they can't win 10 games or more. It's possible!

And even if they do believe they can win 10 games they probably won't. Coaches push that "we believe" shit on their crappy teams all the time.. The fact is, a lot of teams who believe they can win are still shitty teams. Mike Nolan was aiming to win the West in his rookie year as a coach (when they went 4-12).. He had the team believing and look how that turned out.. And believe me, it wasn't because they didn't think they could win all those games, it's because they truly couldn't win those games.

I doubt it. They are professional athletes that are paid to try their hardest, whether they think they can win or not. If you're trying your hardest and you don't win, you can't blame the loss on your mindstate.

It's possible, but not feasible.

That 4-12 49er team probably didn't have the talent that Detroit has on the offensive side of the ball. That Detroit offense is going to cause problems now that they have Calvin Johnson. I see Kitna's point though because he feels that Calvin is going to have a Reggie Bush impact and we know how Reg helped the Saints offense open up.

I do see Tony's point tho. the qb is (or at least should be) the leader of the team, and you want that person to be confident in their squad and themselves.
But if that QB has NO track record of ever winning anything in his decade long career, who the fuck is gonna take him serious? There's no reason to focus on their so-called offensive improvements, because their defense is poor aswell.Detroit sucks, and the fact they got a poor mans version (Bell) of a back they already have (KJones),but is not as fast or big....is even more proof that millen and Tony have no clue ABOUT WINNING FOOTBALL GAMES.

I know youre from Canada and all, but it doesnt take more than a few minutes to get a US map online and check up your geography.

We'll just have to see then huh... The Lions will win ball games because they're going to score points. If you don't know about Martz then you don't know about NFL Football period. Detroit will cause problems next year.... defense or no defense...

I don't know man.. that's going to be a tough as game dog. Calvin Johnson scares me... Thank god we're their first game because I'd be worried if the game was going to be played in the middle of the season. Once they develop that chemistry and get a grasp of Mike's system it's going to get ugly.

I see Detroit finally winning 10 games this year....Im pretty good with predictions in football year in, year out.....I saw that Saints turn around coming a country mile away last year....if Kitna stays healthy(the key), they'll most likely win 10 games on the real........Tatum Bell can suck donkey balls and that's still possible, the acquisition of TJ Duckett is one of the most slept on moves in the offseason without question
THAT NIGGA DUCKETT CAN REALLY CAUSE SOME PROBLEMS.

I actually think they could win 10 games. The NFC is horrible. They can easily beat the Packers and Vikings twice which has them at 4. Then you don't know what Rex you will get with the Bears so they could be interesting.

But Offense wasn't their biggest problem last year. I didn't like the Reggie Bush comparison though. As someone said, he wasn't even the best rookie on their team. The Saints gutted a major portion of their team, brought in some veterans and Drew Brees (why did SD let him go again?) and played with house money.
