There is no King of the West Coast.

Besides for Tupac there has never really been one. Maybe Dr. Dre was the king for a few months back in the early 90s.

Ice Cube is the best (famous) rapper doing it in the West but he's still Not the King.

E40 can't sell any cds and his new cd wasn't all that.

Snoop Dogg switches back and forth with gangsta music and soo bullshit fake ass nongangsta shit.

Too $hort ain't famous and not making any money.

The game needs to put out another cd.

San Quinn could be the King someday.........

The West Coast ain't got much mainstream shit right now.

There's really not one true "King" IMO. Right now, they all dissapoint me, no one is impressive, not even the Game, he sounds EastCoast in most of his shit. Only person you can really make an argument for was Tupac. Other than that, most of the $hit from the 90's was dope and you can make multiple arguments for who was king then because the rap game was so deep then. Rap on the WestCoast should have stayed G-FUNK for the mainstream, now it's all wierd Hyphy $hit and that's where the West is really fucking up and looking like a lame copy-cat of the Dirty South.

True WC rap fans from the 90's are all losing interest in all this new $hit. It's hard to listen to this shit after you have heard all the good quality shit that came out in the 90s. Mostly everyone I talk to can't stand non of this new $hit, they all be bumpin oldschool shit instead still. I always bump the older shit and when I'm out driving, I'm always on the look out for "victims" of my Spice1, Above the Law, Dre, WarrenG, Jayo Felony, TooShort, RBL Posse, Eazy-E, Tupac, Brotha Lynch, Lighter Shade of Brown, Mr. Shadow, etc...etc.. lol It's awsome when you drive up to a Reggaeton looking mothafucker and bump this oldschool shit right next to them and when you lower your system you realize their listening to like Nelly Paul Wall Grillz shit or Chamallionare. lololollolol Atleast back then, the mainstream was sick. There's very little rappers that keep it real now days and tell stories in their raps and talk about life with the homies and hood. Hopefully the real fools from SD & LA step up and bring back the G-Funk sound! Shit that you can lounge, cruise and kick back to, non of this wierd Techno sounding beats. What's up with fools these days, their all wierd n shit. Bunch of softies. LOL, damn.

It'll be hard to crown one person as, the King of the West Coast, because there are several artists and producers that have kept the West goin despite the East coast and now the South dominating the politics of Hip-Hop. Dr. Dre, Snoop, Ice-T, E-40, Rick Rock, Too Short, and more recently The Game have kept the influence of West Coast music on the national Rap scene. But I will have to say that Ice Cube is the biggest West Coast icon in Hip-Hop. He was the first artist that proved he didn't need Dr. Dre to achieve musical success. He has progressed from being an inexperienced actor, to a bona fide film producer. Ice Cube has also established that he is still a lyrical King with his new album "Laugh Now, Cry Later". If you can put anybody's credentials with Ice Cube's as the "King of the West", let it be known and shown!!!!!!!!

^^ I feel ya on that, but some of the people posting are just posting there favorite rappers instead of solid accomplishments....i dont want no king of the westcoast...thats partailly what hurts our scene, cause then you have to have a certain rapper on your album,a certain producer, and deal with all the politics...Shit just put out the best music you can and let us all be kings in the game...we dont need a ruler.
