I don't like anything about Nelly. He sold millions to a bunch of Kiddies. He preyed on this pop generation and sold millions. My point is if you asked most people in the US out there have they heard of Nelly they would say hell ya. If you ask them who E-40 is they haven't a clue because they listen to nothing but mainstream radio played BS.
For christ sakes the guy is so unoriginal he had to do a song about shoes. Plus he's a whiney fucker. 40 water got game. Did his thang bought his own label and then went major. Now that's game. Selling to your own kind of people. Not to a bunch of white kids who know nothing about the game.

flatline alpine deck yola supplier quiet as it's kept!

Now that's real talk cuzzin, not no shit about his Air Force Ones.

I was just peeping this thread and wanted to be the devil's advocate for a sec...

Would you consider Run DMC unoriginal for making a song about shoes or were you infering that Nelly bit Run DMC by making the Air Force One's song?

And on a sidenote...as far as originality goes, both 40 and Nelly are pretty damn original if ya ask me. 40 has his thing (which I personally like better) and Nelly has his thing. Both came through the gate with "original" styles if ya ask me.

Nelly didnt choose to go pop.... He sold, not sold out.. hes one of the few niggas that came in the game with the a new style and stuck with it....

Yeah you are right about hustlin, but how did Nelly get his deal. I know 40 water did that shit himself before he ever went to a major record label like Jive. That to me is hustle. Starting your own thing and rollin with it. Now I don't know much about Nelly but he seems like the type that went straight to a major label without trying to do his thug thizzle first. I just can't stand the dude because like I said I think there is way more talent out in the Bay and here in my hometown of K.C. and I would've like to seen one of them blow nationwide first. Just predjudice against anything Nelly has ever done. And the deal with the shoes was a copy from My Adidas. I don't care what any fool say's. He bit off of that big time. Made millions off of it but totally took the idea. That's not very original to me. Just like Smelly I mean Nelly.

Nice, this is why you dont judge a person till you know them. Alot of us were quick to say Nelly wack, well, his music may not appeal to us but him as a person is a different story as Chuck is finding out...

I may hate his music but that don't mean I don't like him as a person. Hell I don't even know the guy but from what Done Deal just said seems like he's a pretty cool cat. To help him out like that is pretty straight. I still don't like his music and won't buy it.

Nelly did his thing locally in STL before he got his major deal. Like I'ver said before...I don't love his music, but don't dislike it either. Bottomline is that Nelly came in the game doing something totally different and is hated now cause mainstream America liked it.

Your shit is always "tighter" when you are nobody. When mainstream America likes you, you become "wack" to so many people. Look at 50, he hasn't changed his game at all...just has videos and album sales now, yet cats are so quick to hate on him.

I think I can sum it up with some shit I heard on my boy O'Reiley's show.... "The higher you get on the flag pole, the more people can see your ass, and they can't deal with that!"

Everyone sayin Nelly is unoriginal is just hatin. I don't like it, but Nelly did come into the game with a whole new style.

IMO the only rapper even close to Nelly style was was TQ and no one on this board hates on TQ.

I've liked one song I've ever heard from Nelly, but I can't hate him for gettin his money. I'm allowed to say he sucks though :)
