Andrew Vactor of Urbana, Ohio, was facing a $150 fine for playing music too loudly in his car stereo in July. Specifically, rap music.

The Associated Press reports that Champaign County Municipal Court Judge Susan Fornof-Lippencott gave Vactor a choice: either pay a $150 fine, or only $35 - provided he listen to 20 hours of classical music by Bach, Beethoven and Chopin.

According to a probation officer, Vactor lasted about 15 minutes.
"I didn't have the time to deal with that," said Vactor, who claims it was practice with the Urbana University basketball team, not music, that made him give in. "I just decided to pay the fine."

Judge Fornof-Lippencott explained that er idea was to force Vactor to listen to something he might not like, similar to those forced to listen to his rap music.

"I think a lot of people don't like to be forced to listen to music," she said

i mean ill listen to that shit on my own time, fuck being forced...i agree

like who told yo punk ass i DONT listen to bach just cuz i was bumpin young jeezy

pretty stereotypical of a judge

and classical is usually played louder than rap music as it has dramatic highs and lows and in a way has to be turned up to catch it all

Judges shouldn't be allowed to enforce their own punishments by way of blackmailing. That's just wrong and doesn't make any sense. Just give him the fine or give him a warning. Shit like this just makes are system look really stupid and childish.
