Friday, Koch Records announced the addition of Jim Jones [click to read] to its executive team. Earning the position of Vice President of Urban A&R, Jones will oversee the signing and development of new talent on the label’s urban roster. Boasting the title of largest independent record label in the United States, Koch Records hopes to gain even more clout with the appointment of the Dipset rapper.

“Jim Jones put Koch on the map,” said the label’s GM, Alan Grunblatt. “He truly knows what it takes to make a hit record. I am thrilled to be working with him for many years to come.”

Enjoying positive momentum from his single “Pop Champagne” [click to view] which has peaked on Billboard’s "Hot Rap Tracks" at #4, Jones is also working to push the release of the Skull Gang album. Fronted by Juelz Santana [click to read], the group is scheduled to release their album next month.

Jones said, “It feels good to know that the hard work has been recognized by the same people that have helped me get to this point in my career. They recognize that I'm not only an artist but a person that can smell talent and be able to mold a superstar.”

Previously, in 2005 through 2007, Jim Jones held an executive job at Atlantic Records, before both parties agreed to cease the relationship over a year ago.

In addition to his selection as VP of A&R, Jones is also prepping for the release of his album Pray IV Reign, dropping next month.

he needs to because Jim got him by the cajones, no tevin campbell

they need each other IMO

I was listening to that JayZ diss cam'ron did w max B

that hook was sick

I agree. HARLEM DIARY OF A SUMMER is jim's best album to date and its known that max b & stack bundles helped him write that whole album.

If max went back to jim he would blow up and be large bc theres no denying that jim knows how to promote and push a project. They will talk soon if they havent already bc he still under contract with jim so tehy gotta have some kind of communication.

I wanna hear reaping the benefits(maxs unreleased byrd gang album) though. max said its done and jim been sitting on it since 06

I remeber the first time i heard max back in 04 on taht street treats mixtape he was freestyling over that jay-z beat. i thought he was good then i heard him on city of gods mixtape with jim and was like he tight then i heard him on jims harlem album and was a supporter since then.

Man, if Jim Jones is gonna be VP, I hope he starts looking to other regions for talent. He'd help alot of people out if he got distrub. deals for alot of underground kats. Its one thing I liked about the Dipset movement, they put on alot of dudes.
