NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse has been arrested for DUI.
Metro Nashville police said Kearse was seen speeding and swerving several times while travelling west on West End Avenue.
The officer who pulled the Titans over said Kearse exhibited slurred speach, red eyes, and smelled of alcohol. He reportedly refused a breath test.
The officer said Kearse stated that he only had one vodka and a red bull.
Kearse was booked Sunday morning.
The Titans drafted Kearse as the 16th pick in the 1999 NFL draft. Kearse played five seasons with the Tennessee before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles.
In March 2008, Kearse returned to the Titans as a free agent. He signed a two-year deal worth $6 million.
The 6-foot-4, 265-pound defender, who earned the nickname "The Freak" during his playing days at the University of Florida, has played in 111 career games.
His statistics include 444 tackles, 69.5 sacks, one interception and 29 forced fumbles, according to the Titans.
Officials said the incident was Kearse's first offense
