Is there a difference between porn and prostitution?

I don't see how porn can be legal but prostitution illegal cause they're basically the same thing. A person having sex for money. The porn business is a big industry that supplies alot of tax money, prostitution doesn't so that makes it illegal. I think its kinda strange that a bunch of people (director, make up artist, lightening people, camera man, etc..) can profit off another persons body but if they try to profit off it themselves its against the law. I was reading something awhile bacc and it said you can legally pay someone to have sex with you if you film it because in that instance you're not paying them for sex, you're paying them for acting. The article was by a cop from Seattle. She said there was a prostitute there that they've been trying to prosecute but can't because everytime they bring her in she insists that men don't pay her for sex but for her time. I guess shes found a loop hole cause shes out there gettin her money lol

The difference is porn can be heavily regulated, random sex on the street cannot be. If it was profitable by the government, it'd be legal. Same thing with Tobacco/Alchohol legal over weed. It's far easier for the person to grow weed realisticaly to support his hobby than to make alchohol/cigarettes. If you're addicted to Ciggarettes/Alchohol, you're not gonna wanna make the shit to get at it. Weed, on the other hand, would be far more enjoayble if you grew your own shit, or more profitable to sell to the masses if you were allowed to grow your own.

the only reason you dont make your own alcohol and cigerettess because they are readily available and cheap. if every corner store sold joints not many cats would grow weed. im not arguing the point that weed was made illegal for much beyond econimic reasons but its not due to some difference in the difficulty of producing it yourself. the same can be said for prostitution, it can be regulated, it is in some places, and is qualitaivly no diffenet than pron. cultural standards are fickle things and some vices become acepted while other become taboo, its fucked and certainly not rational..... but so are our legislators
