Where am I going after I die?

It's going to be just like it was before I was born - there will be nothing. I will have no soul, no thoughts, and no body. Does that make me sad? No, I won't care after that moment passes.

I've read the bible twice through in my life, mostly when I was younger but I've still skimmed through it and remember it well. I read it more because its a pretty good fiction story - it was written well. But it was written by people just like you and me, and they pulled that shit off the top of their head. They were also possibly under the influence of large amounts of mescaline, cacti, and other various 'older' shamanistic type of substances.

In a sense, youre following a book written by Crack-heads of the past.
Again, ignorance is a bliss.
Have you studied the history of the scriptures?

@Walt,

Life is only what we make out of it.
Not just personal but from a global stand point.
The world's full of assholes because we choose to let it be that way. And when you think about it, they're assholes out of ignorance.
So it's up to you and all of us to educate the ignorant....

I'm glad that you are solid in your beliefs and are happy with them miggidy, but just one question: You really think the bible is not fiction?
I mean, I know science and religion don't agree, but it's been somewhat proven that dudes who wrote it were off something harsh. And after reading some of the books in the bible, (along with knowing how drug-induced writing appears in context), I'm positive they were tripping off of psychedelics that I only wish I could get my hands on. There are numerous instances in some of the books which have a very procative drug-manner to them, as well.

I mean, did Jesus himself write it?

And I definitely agree that the people who preach it and try to enforce beliefs are the negative ones. Nothin' wrong with anyone else.

Ignorance is a bliss to everyone who studies History.
Nothing can be fully proven, and I believe there to be tampering in the history of origination of most holy books that we see today. Go read how the Koran 'supposedly' came about. I know that ain't the bible, but it shows how manipulative people have become in thinking. Trust no one, especially religious upper hierarchy... with power...

Why is what I believe ignorance? The Bible is fiction for the most part. You believe Noah built a ark for two of every animal? You believe Moses parted a sea to pass? Come on. If there was a "god" watching over us, do you think he would let the world get this fucked up?

Now I don't wanna act like I've studied the Bible indepth because I haven't, so maybe I shouldn't even speak on the subject, but it's just not real to me. I need some proof. I don't ever say I am against a supreme being, because I'm not. I just would like a little proof.

Do we go somewhere when we die? Yea, in the dirt. I believe spirts are trapped in our plane for some reason, but thats a whole nother arguement.

I don't diss any type of religon at all I guess having faith is a good thing, I just don't feel it.

I feel you dawg, life is a muthafuckin struggle REGARDLESS of your status. Is it worth living? MOST DEFINATELY!! It's a challenge dawg, and if people can get through it, they are VERY strong, no matter what they think. I have a friend who is religious, hell I have a few people in my life who are religious, and they believe earth IS hell...I look around, and I'm not really religious, I'm spiritual, but I do believe Earth is Hell in disguise. Young kids out doin' stupid shit, blame the parents man...if parents fuckin cared these days there wouldn't be so many fuckin problems. I got boys from both sides of the spectrum, the ones whose parents didn't do much, they are the ones that are struggling right now with life. The homies whose parents were ALWAYS there, they're doin good...don't have a whole lot but they live happy lives. Like I said, I'm not very religious, but I think I'm headed there...I find myself thanking god for every day, cause you can go at any time, he's shown me that on numerous occasions.

Life's a bitch man, I never believed my dad when he said that, but I see it now. We just gotta remain strong, and we are all here for a reason...if we had no purpose in life we wouldn't be here.

I believe the bible word for word.
Science has yet to prove anything against it.
Actually science has helped prove a lot of stuff in the bible is correct. For instance the existance of a gravitational force, the vast universe, and so on.
And archeology has proven that hundreds of stories written about in the bible actually did take place.

People always question the bible but never have a clue about the facts. I just ask you to look at it's history, archeology, and prophecies which are being fulfilled as we speak....

Yes there has been tampering with religious scripture, for instance the many false books out there such as the book of Thomas and so on....
But what you have today in the King James version of the bible is identical to what we had in day one.
Like I said, study the history of the scripture.

It's easy to believe the lies that go around these day, "Oh the bible has been tampered with blah blah blah". But the truth will surprise you as it did me about a year ago....

I understand what you are saying, trust no one. I do not.
That's why I never believed in Catholicism even though I was raised in a Catholic home. Many denominations add and take away from the scripture. You'll be amazed once you read the scripture for yourself.

As for the Qu'ran, it's my understanding that it has never changed. I mean the way it was spread was by word, (prayer) this was to keep the scripture from being changed.

i'm probably one of the few females on this site so not many people may respect what i have to say but either way im still gonna say it lol..
i skimmed through this post because religion is one of the world's most controversial topics....in my opinion (PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS IS MY OPINION SO DONT BITE MY HEAD OFF FOR THIS ONE LOL) religion was created by man to give people hope in thier time of need and despair..all people needed to believe in something or someone to help them through rough times..if you look at the jews in exhile what got them through the desert for those 40 yrs was a faith in something greater that was guiding them..
NOW..i am pretty versed on all faiths through my own studies..and what i have discovered is that all religion has the same basis which is the belief in some sort of GOD figure so to speak..with that in mind..wether i chose to believe in scripture or not is totally irrelevant..the fact that i know that there is some sort of higher power that is in control when i am not is religion enough..if everyone's beliefs were the same there would be no wars lol..think about that for a minute..

NOW FOR THE PERSON WHO POSTED THIS FORUM..
anyone can sit here and give you advice on what they feel you should do with your life and how u should cope..but what it really comes down to is what you really want to do with your own life... i can sit here and type to u for days on how u should enjoy life..only advice i can give u is find some inner focus the rest will come..

Hahahha. Ignorance speaks for itself....
First off, you don't believe in the biblical tale of Noah?
Read about ancient Babylonian and Sumerian civilizations.
Oh yeah and here's clear cut proof supporting this story, go check out what the Turkish government is hiding over by Mount Ararat!

Read the story of Adam and Eve, the whole free will thing.
Man this is the number one excuse everyone uses, but it's out of ignorance. Read the scripture before you down play it bro.
God gave man free will, the world is fucked up because we made it this way. It's up to us to make it better and not God.

Think about it in this way, how do you expect a baby to learn to walk on his/her own feet if you're always there to hold his/her hand? Same with us man....

Jesus says "blessed is he who believes without seeing me".
There's proof of a higher power every where you look.
It's just depends on how you see things. The entire planet is proof, it's cycle of life and so on.
Do you really think we were created by chance?
Evolutionists say that we evolved from apes because our DNA's very similar. But did you hear the recent news? Dog DNA is 75% the same as ours. So did some moneky fuck a dog and created human offspring?

The least you can do is read up on it bro.
A lot of your questions will be answered by reading the scripture. Go ahead, read the Qu'ran, the Vedas, and the bible.
Do it even for educational purposes....

Ok, you win. You are obviously much more educated on religion than me, but what about the part of the Bible that says people used to live to over 500 years old? I did read that somewhere, a friend of mine was taking religion in school. I know it's near the beginning LMAO

Don't worry, I'm not Ozzy so no head biting here.

I do believe certain religions were created man and a lot of them are manipulated by men. Some for the better and others for the worse....
For instance, I think Buddhism was created with good intentions. But it was clearly created by a man. But there's certain scripture out there (and you know what I'm talking about if you studied this field) that's time after time has proven itself as a cut above the rest. For many reasons, some which I already pointed out to in this thread.

Not all religions have one God, check out Hinduism, a very good religion in my opinion.
Budhsim isn't even about a higher power, it's more of a personal God.

It's not about religious beliefs.
Buddha never said go out and kill those who do not believe his teachings. And Jesus made it very clear, that one must love his enemies. Remember, "turn the other cheek"?
It is people who start wars and not religion.

People go to war because they do not respect their differences.
It's ignorance.... Don't think so?
Lets take a closer look at home, something we're all familiar with.
Gang violence....
Gang bangers cannot accept the fact that they are different, thus they have to fight each other.
Look at the Norteno and Sureno thing, both are Mexican/Chicano and they trip off their differences instead of focussing on their similarities. The same can be said for this East VS West rivalry in the music we listen to.... Then take it down to Muslims and Jews who do not respect their different religious beliefs.
You see? It's not about religioun, it's about people who trip of their differences. Racism is the same way....
