you are not born a racist or with prejudice thoughts.
a defense mechanism? what exatcly are you defending?
most people say black folks are angry at white folks, only because of what we have learned about slavery right?
ok so lets say i was raised by a white family who never taught me black history, i wouldn't have any resentment towards white people whatsover.
I am speaking for me, i don't have a racist nor prejudice bone in my body. you know why? because my parents didn't instill that in me. my parents never made racial comments etc. They taught me what we are all equal. Even if someone dropped the n bomb, i'm not gonna use racism as a defense mechanism.
im speaking in a very basic term. notions of racism are taught. but the very reason why they are taught is to protect from the unknown or elements that they do not understad. i thought people knew this....
animals protect themselves from elements that are not known to them. they precieved those unknown situations as threats. we do it all the time.
so you are nurturing something that is natural to begin with

it is impossible not be prejudice

I think the main issue i have with you is not your views as a whole, but you generalize way too much. "we do it all the time." We? i don't do what you do. Doberman is black as well. he may not have the same views as me. he may not talk like me etc.
and to comment on the main topic of the thread, i think your thread is very ignorant, and if you had a problem with how the brotha spoke, why don't you speak to him about it. What makes you think ALL black people speak like him?

its not that i generalize..its just that the business im in...you make observations. i've noticed patterns coming from my people. and i never said or implied "all blacks".

Humans constantly prejudge other people and situations, it IS human nature. If I see four people posted in a dark Alley should I not prejudge and proceed to walk through? Maybe they are good guys and discussing midterms. Maybe they are thugs waiting to come up on someone. Should I not be prejudice and take the risk? I think too many people hear the word prejudice and directly tie it to being "racist". Being a "true Christian" might get you killed sometimes.

most blacks will continue to live in poverty for as long as they talk like that. (talking to family and friends is something different)

This world is all about perception

which includes self-perception....this is the biggest obstacle really.....if you learn to not worry about the fact that the world is all about perception and to love yourself for who you are and give a fucc what others think you'll live a better life....the worry of others perceptions is what contributes to a lot of stress which in turn creates a lot of other problems.....
