To me, it's a classic. I love the album, my favorite Tech album. Everything on it has meaning. It's deep, it has a theme... Not many albums, especially in hip hop, have that much relevance.

But, on a mainstream level it's not a classic. When you talk about classic albums to most rap fans, this won't pop up. Tech fans will mention it, but that's only about 300,000 people.

So, it's not a classic on the level of All Eyez on Me, or Ready 2 Die, or anything like that, but I believe it's a classic for Tech's audience, but not in a general hip hop level. People have to listen to it to be a classic.

It's pretty obvious that it isn't on a mainstream level...you never even hear the name Tech N9ne on a mainstream level. Whatever is force fed to the public is going to be popular...not actual talent. Given, there has been a few mega-popular mainstream people that have substance, but thats like 1 in a million...

I also think it's better that Tech doesn't have the different colored hair... always thought it was just a little too wild. Did it make me not like him? No, of course not. But as long as he currently doesn't have it, why not just leave it? Tech is always saying that he just wants to be himself... well, the colored hair is definately not Tech, IMO.

A lot of you would argue that the crazy ass spikes along with the orange or red hair color is Tech. But, he didn't come up that way, so why change? I guess you could say it was "cool" for a while, but hopefully now he sticks with the "natural" hair color.

WHAT DOES HAIR HAVE TO DO WITH SOUND OF THE ALBUM? I UNDERSTAND YOU ARE CHIEF OF THE HAIR POLICE ... BUT I THINK WE ARE SPEAKING ABOUT THE ALBUM NOT TECH'S HAIR STYLE.

YOU CAN CREATE ANOTHER POLE FOR THAT. I BET YOU WATCH BLOW OUT ON BRAVO DON'T YOU?

you cant compare anghellic to mainstream 2pac and biggie albums, its a different category IMO, its like comparing 50 cent to michael jackson, other then beign gay, they have nothing in common...tho 50 cent is kinda pop music, but lets not get into that, and anghellic is definetly a clasic album, better then all eyez on me and ready to die IMO, but thats me i guess, i dont thing that the tightest shit pac wrote can even compare to shit like this sing, and biggies flow cant compare to Breathe

I don't think it's a classic, YET...

The way I see it, a classic is one of those albums that can have some sort of relevance whether it's 10 years, 20 years, 30 years from the release date. You can have all the mics you want, but if the album doesn't leave that sort of impact, then it's not a classic. It's got to be able to stand up to the test of time. Look at Regulator (my example): It's 12 years old, but given that I'm 20, and only having been 8 when it first came out, I can still pop that in my cd player and have memories flooding back to me from 1994. It's got nothing to do with bump-ability, because I barely play it, but I know that it's a damn good cd and that it means a hell of a lot, not to me but to a lot of people.

Since the initial question was if I think it's a classic or not; If I still feel the same way I do when I bump that shit in 2010 that I do now, THEN it'll be a classic in my eyes. It's on the right path though...

and THAT is why I don't post very often, lol

I was referencing a comment made by "MidWest785" about the hair... I was just stating my opinion to that... my bad. His hair has nothing to do with the album itself. I was stating that I prefer the "classic" or "vintage" look of the Tech N9ne from CBTS. Sure, my post didn't quite fit perfectly.

And for the record, what is "Blow Out" on BRAVO? I don't have cable, so... but I sure as hell would not be caught dead watching BRAVO if I did have cable.

i will listen to every single tech n9ne album always, and will wear nothing but tech merchandise, and make a pilgrimmage to wayne minor every year, where i will sacrifice shitty rappers as a symbolism for tech, and whenever my future wife bears a daughter, i will offer her up as a virgin once she comes of age.

damn, i love tech as much as the next guy on this board, but shit, some people really do make this a religion...
