Iran forces urged to prepare to hit Israel

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's hardline forces should get ready to take revenge on Israel and the United States for the offensive on Lebanon, the head of the Revolutionary Guards was quoted as saying on Sunday.

"The Basij and Revolutionary Guards should prepare to get even with the Zionists and Americans," Yahya Rahim-Safavi was quoted as telling Islamic militiamen by the conservative Fars news agency.

The Basij are volunteer Islamic militiamen.

"The timing of the this will be announced by the leader," he added.

An Israeli air strike killed 54 civilians, including 37 children in the southern Lebanese village of Qana on Sunday, the bloodiest single attack since Israel's 19-day-old war on Lebanese Hizbollah guerrillas began.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards are historically close to Hizbollah and were deployed in south Lebanon during the 1980s. Mostafa Chamran, spiritual father of the Guards, forged his reputation fighting in Lebanon.

The Basij and Revolutionary Guards are directly answerable to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Although Iran funded and armed Hizbollah in the 1980s, it has insisted recently its support is mainly moral and political.

However, many sources have said Iranian arms are being used against Israeli civilian and military targets.

An Israeli military source has said an Iranian-made C802 radar-guided land-to-sea missile with a range of 60 miles (95 km) hit and badly damaged a ship during Israel's offensive against Lebanon.

Hizbollah said it fired "Raad (Thunder) 2" and "Raad 3" rockets at a rail depot in Haifa. Raad missiles are Iranian.

Israel's army said it destroyed an Iranian-made Zelzal missile with range of between 74 and 99 miles before it was launched.

They agreed to stop for 48 hours b/c an estimated 54 citizens were killed in the town of Qana (where over 100-150 rockets were fired from that day). The people were told to evacuate, a building was bombed, 7 hours later the building collapsed and killed the most civilian casualties to date.

Israel is giving those people 24 hours to evacuate, and 48 hours to investigate (but if the IAF can trace the Source of Rocket attacks, it will not stand idly by).... did the buliding fall b/c of the missles, or is this yet another example of how dispicable Hizbollah is, by planting/setting off explosives, after the missle attack, to 'Matyr' their women and children to get the rest of the muslim world to harbor more anger and resent against Israel?

the dramatic tragedies continue

What needs to be realized is that THIS IS A PROXY WAR . U.S.A v.s Iran via Israel and Hizbollah. On meet the press last weekend there was some U.S offical on there and the host asked him is the U.S was "actively" supplying Israel with weapons. He said yes and that those shipments had been accelerated since Israel's attack on Lebanon. We already know that the missles Hizbollah fires are from Iran. They fire over 140 missles a day. Which means they have an open supply route from Iran. Israel's attacks hasn't even put a dent in their cache of missles. So the media should just call it what it what it really is...Israel and U.S.A v.s Iran .....Hizbollah and Syria.

Let me pose a scenario to you guys and let me know your opinions. Lets say something "fantastic" happens to america within the next 3 years. By "fantastic" I mean a SEVERE earthquake, a meteor smashing a city, an epidemic, an economic crash or a nuclear/"terrorist" attack or something major where a lot of people feel the effects. Now lets say that Israel REFUSES to help america after this "fantastic" event has occured, and lets say after this event america still sends aid (troops, money, food, etc) to Israel (who at this time would be involved in a major war in thh mid east.) Do you feel these actions would create a great sense of resentment in the minds of average americans, and do you believe Israels unwillingness to help and americas willingness to help after the fact could cause civil unrest in the united states?

No, I don't think it would cause any type of resentment. I believe most "Americans" view Israel as a small and vulnerable nation that could barely help itself. So, if in the event of a major catastrophe, be it an earthquake, tsunami, or major "terrorists attacks" no one would fault Israel for not helping out here. There are more Jews I believe outside of Israel than within Israel and those are mainly the very wealthy ones. Not to mention the American Jewish League here in the U.S. a very wealthy organization. but for the most part I think the majority of people see Israel as a small country in the middle east that a lot of muslim nations hate, and will give em a pass not matter what...out of sympathy.

Doberman, are you saying the average american is sympathetic to Israel because they have been "trained" that way? Are you saying church, the media and the government has led the people to be very sympathetic? Now, think about the mentality of a lot of americans; selfish, slothful, inconsiderate, greedy, spiteful, prideful, lustful, lascivious, envious and vain. Would these americans reconsider their position/beliefs towards israel if america was in a time of GREAT need or would they just sit back? I mean think of the WORST possible scenario you can think of. Think of the majority of the population being taken out due to some "fantastic" event. Do you still think americans would look at israel as a victim who can't help?

BTW, for everyone else reading this there is no WRONG or RIGHT answer, I just want to know your opinions.

The haven't stopped shit.

Israeli air force jets bombed southern Lebanon this morning, despite a 48-hour suspension of air strikes

Israel's PM rules out ceasefire. "The fighting continues. There is no ceasefire and there will not be any ceasefire in the coming days," he said.

The people were told to evacuate, a building was bombed, 7 hours later the building collapsed and killed the most civilian casualties to date.
They dropped leaflets, as if that is a good enough excuse to drop a bomb on a civilian house!

Really? Then why did they launch the attack in the dead of the night, while everyone was sleeping? What twisted and disgusting logic you have; blame the murdered innocent for being murdered. Blame the 37 children for not leaving their home. Rather than blaming those who dropped the bomb on the house in the first place. 700+ Lebanese dead, mostly civilian, and you still blindly follow in the Israeli governments footsteps; as always after such atrocities, officials blame the victims.

The bullshit “human shield” defense that I keep hearing on the propaganda tube is the standard justification given by every imperialist military when it attacks civilian targets. In this case, it is an excuse for continuing to bomb Lebanons Shiite population, which I note overwhelmingly supports Hezbollah—a mass political party with delegates in the Lebanese parliament and ministers in the current government.

Honestly, I think if something like that happened. EVERYONE! in this country would be out for himself and not looking towards another country for help. Mainly for all the reasons you listed above. But since we are a "SuperPower" ...if we can't help ourselves who can help us. No one can be it Israel or any other nation. We supposed to be that shit. That very mentatlity will carry down to individualism and it will be "every man for himself"
I don't know about yall...but I'm ready(don't ask). When it goes down...I don't need Israel or anyone else for that matter. See what I mean...I'm the perfect example.:)
