people speak about what jesus *said* of hell in the bible. does it exist? yes. does it exist in the way we percieve it (red devils, fire, horns)? no.
I feel you, I was only saying it does exist......... "WE" have never experienced it, the way "WE" percieve it (red devils, fire, horns) means nothing.....Jesus knows and he is the way, we must take his word for it....he would never steer us in the wrong direction!

*Hell "DOES" exist!*

1st There is no soul, just your subjective and objective consciousness which is divided into thoughts, feelings, intuitions and sensations.
2nd The teachings of Jesus weren't written down until 40 years after his death and from there it took 5 centuries of a large composite of authors to finish it. Similarly, what we know from the teachings of Socrates is from the writings of Plato. Socrates never wrote his philosophy. Plato wrote Socrates philosophy after his death. So you have to wonder, how much of it is Socrates and how much of it is Plato...
Well I'm not gonna aurgue with you but I will research your every word!

Lady Lane lol obviously you don't know shit about Asian religions. Go take a philosophy class and study some Taoism and Buddhism and then come back and try to have an educated discussion...

There are many religions, do you think Christianity has the absolute truth and if so why?

Sorry didn't mean to get sidewayz with you; it is late here in Vegas "Sin City" lol

"Christianity, I never claimed them to be the absolute truth! I beleive the bible is the absolute truth!" Pure Brilliance!!! lol Just a little info, the bible is Christianity because of someone called Jesus Christ. Also it is this type of fundamental exclusive beliefs like what you just said that has caused more wars, terrorism, deaths, false sense of superiority's, the list goes on than anything else... Please, please if you only read one book in your entire life read Alfred Adler’s What Life Could Mean to You, I beg of you read it….

Re: reality

Faith is an attitude... There is no after life, once you're dead, you're dead... Your brain and your conscious (the awareness of yourself and the environment around you) stops functioning and that is it... All thoughts and beliefs no longer exist except for your dead body; this is the only reality/truth... It is hard to think this way because the human conscious is so strong that it makes it hard to think of the nonfeeling in nonexistence... I came to this conclusion after knowing a kid who was normal before he suffered a substantial amount of brain damage from almost drowning. Anyway he wasn't the same person at all. It was like he had been replaced by another person. Point being is when you die your brain is damaged permanently and you no longer know shit about anything because your brain no longer functions.
Then what happens to the power, and etc. within your body? Even science tells you that energy cannot be destroyed. That right there proves to me (even without faith) that there is such a thing as a soul, or a spirit, whatever you want to call it. And I dunno about you, but I feel that there is something that makes me uniquely me, a soul within me. I don't feel myself as a head attached to a body, I don't feel myself remembering out of my head, I feel myself as a whole, like an energy, an existance. That's not my body, thats' something within my body. Peace~

In my opinion hell would be more of a cold and lonely place...we all know that emotional pain is much more hard to deal with than physical pain.
Yeah, my religion kind of believes this, too. There will be fire, etc. but how much of that is figurative, we (hopefully) will never know. The bible is on so many levels, it's hard to understand on earth exactly what it all points to. We think of Hell as more of a place of darkness, cut off from the light of the savior. Now; if you were eternally in hell, and eternally knew that you COULD have been in heaven, if you made a few more wise decisions in this short little while you were on earth; even if you were just all alone, wouldn't that be hell? And wouldn't being alone forever in the dark TRULY be hell? I can't think of anything worse then knowing, forever, what I missed out on. Somewhere in the bible (revelations?) it mentions that those in hell will be able to 'see' heaven, and I truly believe that that will be the worst part of hell, being able to SEE what you could have had. Peace~

Again, just my take on it. I'm mormon, and we believe that people who haven't rebuked the savior can still be saved after death. For instance, say you're not a christian at death; in the 'afterlife' or whatever, the veil God has placed over us on earth will be lifted, and you'll see more clearly; it'll be painfully obvious that Christ is the way, etc. so you will have another chance to 'become' christian. Same with all religions. About the only people who are just SCREWED are people who are basically evil, or who have maybe actively denounced Christ within their lives, but then you've got to wonder, how many of those that Denounce Christ actually TRULY believed in him? You'd have to be pretty evil to prefer hell. I think, once we pass, that the true mercy of christ's atonement will astonish all of us. I think he did a lot more than we know for a lot more of us than we can ever imagine. Peace~ (P.S., just my thoughts, I'm not trying to prove or argue anything to anybody)

"Even science tells you that energy cannot be destroyed." what form of energy are u talking about, be specific.....

"I don't feel myself remembering out of my head" As I said before, "It is hard to think this way because the human conscious is so strong that it makes it hard to think of the nonfeeling in nonexistence..." How many times do u want me to say this give me a number.... I think therefore I am, when u stop thinking therefore u are nothing.....

ReservoirDog,

I see you don't believe in an after life.
Then how do you explain ghosts?

Let me ask you this, what would you do or think if you ever got to see a ghost?
How would this affect you psychologically since it goes against everything you believe?
Put yourself in the shoes of a person who has seen one.

Would you then realize that one of the major religions of the world might be truthful in it's teachings?

Or would you simply ignore it and forget about it or even deny it?
