To me its good they making it cater to everyone but if the gameplay suffers from balancing issues it will be the end of it. As long as there are a variety of moves for every character and not one has an advantage over the other. Everything relies on a players skill rather than exploits, that will make any fighting game perfect IMO.

Fuck making moves hard to execute, it should be timing that creates the best of the best in a game. Fighting games shouldn't be about hitting difficult moves, it should be about the combat timing and effort it took to master a character.

Now some casual gamers have to worry about being criticized for just plain having fun.
I'm not sure how you drew that conclusion but it's typically not the case. I mean there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a casual gamer. As long as you play because you enjoy it, nothing matters.

well i guess u cant make everyone happy. lol
I'm with Jake. As big as a budget SF4 has, you would expect SFIV to atleast try to introduce something new. Love or hate SF3's parry system, it added an entirely new level of depth to fighting games.

Street Fighter 3 = Shit Fighter 3. The parrying system was so broken that if you were able to pull it off, you spent the entire match going back and forth parrying. This is the game all SF fans deserve, a return to the core gameplay and roots that made the franchise what it is today. If you want to play a fun kiddie game, go play pokemons or something like that.

Parrying system added a new level of strategy. Made you work to get hits, not just sit back and spam special moves

Hate it or love it,at least it was something new. 4 isnt bringing anything except a facelift. Might as well call it super street fighter 2 3d remix

In regards to the parrying system, even the developers basically implied it was broken and didn't work as intended.

Concerning 4, they said they wanted to step away from 3 and make a true sequel and this is what they did. They kept the core game mechanics intact, added the new focus bullshit to keep parry boys somewhat happy, and revamped the graphics.

If you break down and get the 360 version, do me a favor and hit me up so I can beat the shit out of you.

Ryu, Guile, Sagat, Bison and Blanka. I may even throw some Ken, Akuma, Zangief or Honda in there, but the ones in bold are my core characters. But I can use All 12 characters from SF 2 champion edition/turbo, as well as Fei Long, Cammy and Sakura. I'm not a Gen fan (I might be after this is said and done), and I have no experience with these new people as I haven't played the arcade version.

But rest assured, when it's all said and done, you'll be a victim, just like every other person here who purchases the game for the 360.

Instead of, "You must defeat Shen Long to stand a chance", it needs to read, "You must defeat Heresy to stand a chance"
