If every one followed the bible.. wouldn't the world be a better place?

see, you can't just pick up only what you want from the bible's morals
they're not the bible morals anymore if you do that
there are 10 commandments which determine the way you should live and that's it; they are not 5 more important and 5 not so imortant; there are 10 commandments which start with statements clearly directed against all other religions (and atheism too) and if anything these are the most important as they are listed first
BTW I do not understand why people are so fascinated with the bible and seem to forget one very important but often (of course purposedly) ignored fact:
The reason Christianity was adopted by European culture was that Constantine and Theodosius I in the 4th century set it as an official religion in the Roman empire; moreover it was the councils of Nicaea (also held in the 4th century) where and when the texts and interpretations and the whole Christian doctrine were established
it is completely moronic to think that roman emperors adopted christianity just because they were fascinated with the beatiful message in it and wanted to share it with all the people all over hte world and more bla-bla
they were grown folks who don't believe in fairy tales
what was much needed around that time was a way to keep their enormous empire in check, an increasingly harder task in the 4th century; christianity teaches "Shut up, be quiet, be happy" and not only that, but it was spreading around the empire so it was the perfect tool they were looking for
the goal of the councils was to additionally strengtnen these parts of the doctrine and to clear all the contradictions between different interpretations and different schools so that only one church and one interpretation is left
the whole point was to keep people under the control of the emperor (later the king or whatever title the person ruling given territory boasted)
This is the underlying idea.
Is this the moral you want to follow?
Just think about why in the last few years the current adminsitration is putting so much emphasize on traditional family and christian values....

I'll be "Christian" like for this moment. TO HELL WITH ALL YOU THAT REJECT JESUS, seriously though, if you foos just can't pick up a bible, and debate without knowing crap, then don't bother. We explain to you who Jesus is, give and take, read the bible to find any contradictions, chose whether he is God, Savior, and King of the Universe, and if you deny him, plain and simple you go to hell. Yes, I'm biased, yes I'm an exclusivist, but being "christian" like, is not tolerating everything. Every damn Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Zoarist, Satanic Worshiper, Freemason, universalist, atheist, or anyone that rejects Jesus once he has understood who he was or has been given the Gospel will go to hell. Even Christians, that are Lukewarm will go to hell, AND YES I'M GUILTY AT TIMES FOR BEING LUKEWARM! We all do! For those that have not heard the word, that is for YAHWEH, YESHUA, ELOHIM, RUACH HAKODESH, AVIAH, EHYEH, ADONAI, EL SHADDAI, TO JUDGE. So bottom line, Reject our God, you GO TO HELL!!!!

this is the ultimate reason people still stick to religon - it hurts to realize you're a monkey, it is a denomination of your status from a semi-god like to an animal

this means no no cures for any disease, no technological advances, nothing
so it is vital to know the answer
let's list two hypotheses:
1. the bible is the ultimate truth (e.g. nothing in it is wrong), Jesus exists and controls everything that happens in the universe
2. the world is purely materialistic and all that's in it is based on particle interactions (which in turn might depend on string and superstring vibration modes if string theory is true)
I'll let you decide which hypothesis fits the observations and can be promoted in rang to a theory
if I saw no contradictions in the bible, I would be a frim believer
the problem is I see A LOT OF CONTRADICTIONS and A LOT OF CONTRADICTIONS with the observed world
