Ay..what ever happened to Coco B-ware?
Ahhh...Koko B. Ware! Someone remembers old school WWF!
Koko went to Memphis in the USWA in early '92. He feuded with Kamala (Feb.-April) and Jerry Lawler (Nov.-Dec.) and went back-and-forth with both of them in winning, losing, winning back, and again losing, the USWA championship! According to the 'net, he was last wrestling for a league called the BBOW (Bad Boys of Wrestling), but when I tried to click on their address, all I got was a casino ad. It'd be a shame if he were finished...
Koko got a raw deal in the WWF--the only opponent of any substance he beat was Nikolai Volkoff (who wasn't exactly in the best shape of his career) on SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT in November 1987! Of course, there were a lot of wrestlers who were great in other leagues that the WWF denied titles to (to protect their precious Hulk Hogan, of course) or otherwise made look like fools (Dusty Rhodes, Ronnie Garvin, Bad News Brown, One Man Gang, Butch Reed, and Outlaw Ron Bass were essentially glorified jobbers), and Koko suffered from this, too. I remember he played The Time's "The Bird" as his theme song, which was cool.
PEACE!
