man i got so much respect for those dudes for putting out that album. they were in a position where they could have made those janky ass radio songs but they didnt. they kept it real and kept it street. the dudes know that their album wasn't gonna be overlooked no matter how they did it so they decided to speak their true feelings (shared by myself and many of you other siccness cats) about the rap game right now.

i dont think those lines are necessarily disses to eminem and 50, though they are definitley talking about them. I think that they said that shit to be like, what the fuck is wrong with the rap game right now? i got mad respect to WSC for keeping it real like that. But what the fuck is up with these rumours that they broke up? anybody heard anything?

Yup. At first, I thought, "this is gonna suck", but I played TERRORIST THREATS and I love it! It's maybe a little bit less angry than BOW DOWN was, but that's cool--the beats are creative throughout, and while I love Dub's lyrics the best, I thought Cube came tighter here than on anything from WAR or PEACE...

Me, I don't think that they're dissing Em or 50 Cent as human beings--they're dissing the REASON why a lot of suburban white Rap fans love them. To me, "Supastar" is saying, "if you're gonna focus on rappers, do so because said rappers have GREAT LYRICS and can SPIT, not because of gossipy shit, like because they got shot or because of publicized problems they have w/ their families, etc." After all, it's called "Rap MUSIC", not "Rap Soap Opera."

As far as whether or not they've broken up--I kind of doubt it (nothing's been said on MTV, BET, ROLLING STONE or any of the major music mags/websites), but it's still seems to be up in the air. Damizza on WEST COAST AFTERSHOCK told one of the moderators of that board that it's NOT true--there's supposed to be an interview of some sort on that board this week (according to the story given there). So we just gotta wait and see...

PEACE!

thats real sav-man. and im glad to hear the rumours are dissolving because i couldnt really picture those guys breaking up. especially right after B2K did! lol just kidding though.

and to NEWARKKILLA4NIA, maybe they didn't represent the whole west coast and they're not the biggest gangsters anymore, but look at what they're doing for the west coast right now. they're opening up doors so more people can spit that real shit. And they're bringing it back to the west coast in the fashion they should have. dissing all the other groupie rappers/labels/rap fans that got the game fucked up. I mean you gotta at least give them credit for taking a HUGE step in the right direction.

Yup, you won't be sorry that you bought it. The main differences between TT and BOW DOWN are in the overall theme and the production.

BOW DOWN's theme was a protest against East Coast industry/ media people who were talking shit about West Coast street rap "destroying the purity" of Hip-Hop. Cube, Mack and Dub were standing up for the right of the fans of street Rap to like it without having to deal w/ a lot of harassment from PC-critics, etc.

By contrast, the theme on TT is that most of the rappers whom the mainstream promotes as "hard" today aren't doing street rap the justice that it deserves. Here, Cube, Mack and Dub are saying that they're going to keep doing the kind of Rap that they like, even if it's not doing commercially well, because there are still folks who like it regardless of what's being promoted now...

As far as production...the music on TT is a little more "full" than it was on BOW DOWN (many of that CD's tracks were bare-bones bass-drums-and maybe a little keyboard prodcutions). The TT tracks remind me of a cross between Above The Law and '93/'96 period Death Row stuff. But it's cool. Go get it!

PEACE!

Ice Cube and everybody else has EVERY RIGHT to talk shit about Eminem, the cat ain't nothin but a modern day Vanilla Ice. I mean yea, dude has skill, and his lyrics are on point, but he's fakin the funk these days to fit in with the cats he raps with. I remember about 2 years back when Em started sayin' shit about fake ass gangsters and people who put up a front, and now what's he doin? He's tryin to be a fuckin G...cats like that give the rest of us light skinned artists a bad name. In no way am I fake about my shit, and I don't claim to bang or none of that, I'm true to myself and the people around me...but if Eminem flops over cause he's startin to fake it, he's gonna fuck the game up for cats like me who are straight up with what we believe and how we live....

I HOPE TO GOD Cube and them make him turn his game around before he fucks it up for us good folks!!

sounds like a em diss to me...

but aint they both on AFTERMATH?

Cube admitted in an interview (last November) that he hasn't actually signed w/ Aftermath. He said that there were things about the paperwork that weren't right, and indicated that he honestly doesn't know if he'll sign w/ them or not. Cube said that he gets the impression that "Dre prefers working w/ younger artists." So, as a solo artist, I believe Cube's basically a free agent (as is W.C., who admitted that he's not w/ Def Jam any longer).

PEACE!
