man i got so much respect for those dudes for putting out that album. they were in a position where they could have made those janky ass radio songs but they didnt. they kept it real and kept it street. the dudes know that their album wasn't gonna be overlooked no matter how they did it so they decided to speak their true feelings (shared by myself and many of you other siccness cats) about the rap game right now.
i dont think those lines are necessarily disses to eminem and 50, though they are definitley talking about them. I think that they said that shit to be like, what the fuck is wrong with the rap game right now? i got mad respect to WSC for keeping it real like that. But what the fuck is up with these rumours that they broke up? anybody heard anything?
Yup. At first, I thought, "this is gonna suck", but I played TERRORIST THREATS and I love it! It's maybe a little bit less angry than BOW DOWN was, but that's cool--the beats are creative throughout, and while I love Dub's lyrics the best, I thought Cube came tighter here than on anything from WAR or PEACE...
Me, I don't think that they're dissing Em or 50 Cent as human beings--they're dissing the REASON why a lot of suburban white Rap fans love them. To me, "Supastar" is saying, "if you're gonna focus on rappers, do so because said rappers have GREAT LYRICS and can SPIT, not because of gossipy shit, like because they got shot or because of publicized problems they have w/ their families, etc." After all, it's called "Rap MUSIC", not "Rap Soap Opera."
As far as whether or not they've broken up--I kind of doubt it (nothing's been said on MTV, BET, ROLLING STONE or any of the major music mags/websites), but it's still seems to be up in the air. Damizza on WEST COAST AFTERSHOCK told one of the moderators of that board that it's NOT true--there's supposed to be an interview of some sort on that board this week (according to the story given there). So we just gotta wait and see...
PEACE!
