sorry carl. getting on line and asking for directions is pretty bad. The subculture of Graffiti (real writers and history) just dont start by coming online. Before the internet, muthafukaz had to learn on their own and develop they own style. New Katz that come online asking questions leads to suspicion. Either they Graff task force getting info to bust on people or blowing up good spots with toy shit.

You should just do that then. Go out and do it. Post flicks and listen to the praises/criticism that people will give you.
I guess its all perspective. Real Writers go out and put art up. While "others" waste time, attract attention, ruin spots, cross out others, with shit that is NOT up to par. Some katz ruin the graffiti scene.. shit's a lifestyle.
Drawing on paper aint the same as doing a piece in proper proportions with cans.
Anyone can get a marker and write a name. You might see a writer's name everywhere tagged or handstyle... but once you hit spots, you'll see the art an why alot of dudes are respected on the streets.
Just kuz you know how to draw, doesnt mean you are a king. Toy is a beginner. You started a thread saying you want to start "tagging"... that's a beginner's subject, not to mention giving us your stats "I'm 23 and graduated from College", then think brighter. You shouldnt have to go on a forum and learn graffiti. When I was into graffiti, I went out and bombed my town. I did stickers, stencils, handstyles, climbed and crawled, followed train tracks.... Fuk, I never relied on the internet for help. And not everything on the net is gonna tell you anything. What the the main crews in town, how long, the history of your town, new writers, who got busted, who got killed... there's somethings you learn about the scene on the streets.
I'm saying this with all do respect. Go out and learn, Get up and stay up.
The graffiti scene can get pretty disrespectful. Alot of beefs happen, and alot of close calls with rivals/cops.
But you're a smart guy, you'll find out.
