God bless the holiday's purpose & values associated with it. But I can't stand the commercialism and consumerism that comes along with it now. The media trys to make life seem all holly and jolly when some muthafuckas are broke in this world (not me as much as others). Yet the wal-mart up the street is making cash off all the consumers because they make you think you need to decorate like crazy. I celebrate Christmas, but won't buy a tree or put up lights. The holiday spirit makes people feel obligated to buy gifts too. I think that is wrong. It took me along time to feel this way. My family draws names now. Rather than everyone spending alot of money on others because we think we are supposed to.

Happy birthday to Jesus though.

A good time of the year.

Be grateful for the positive things in your life and don't compare yourself to others. I learned that from a fellow by the name of Dennis Prager. I suggest you put some of him in your life.

I'm eating a mince pie as we speak...

I only like the bit about the cold and the snow and the mince pies and Christmas cake and big roast dinner and lots of booze...

I agree it's too commercial, but I find that part easy to ignore. For me, Christmas is a week of overeating, overdrinking, watching movies, reading books, fishing and hanging out with people I love. Nope, nothing wrong with that!

Sorry to bah on your humbug but I'm looking forward to it this year.

I didn't give a shit about Christmas for the last 10 years, but now my daughter is 3 years old so Christmas is pretty much back, did the whole Christmas tree thing, took her to see Santa, bought mad gifts for her, shits kinda fun.
