Dont get a Samsung unless you get a long warranty. Good tv (picture quality) but have A LOT of problems.

DLP tv diplays bulbs go out real quick and need to be replaced and they run about $100-$200. LCDs can get burn ins.

Are you gonna get HD channels? HDTVs are GREAT and play really good DVDs.

You want widescreen?

The JVC 32 inch iArt HDTV has a really good picture and is in the regular 4:3 format but is widescreen for HD. Same with the 32 inch Sony HiScan(their term for HD). The JVC runs about $899 and Sony for $999 but you could probly find the Sony on sale somewhere.

bulbs have 1000-2000 hours, that's a shit load. That's a replacement of every 4 months depending on how much you use it. But I'm sure you can find the bulbs cheap on ebay too.
