I'm too old to give a fuck. Honestly, I just laugh and keep it movin'. My homie says it all the time and he's Mexican. Its not anything I get all worked up about. I always wondered what people's (non African-American) motivation for sayin' it was. When you say it, are you meanning for it to be inclusive to all races?
I laugh when people say its slang. Slang for what, "homie"? If thats the case, why not just say homie?
Fuckin' right, 100%. I'm with you here.
When I lived in Alabama, the first thing I heard out of a
white classmate's mouth was, "Get dat nigga," and the dude was walking around with his arms bowed out and a mean look on his face, like he was a tough guy. The dude was a bitch. Having grown up a military child and only being used to a
very small group of black guys saying it, I met shocked as shit when I moved to Alabama and heard
everyone using it.
Now, it doesn't bother me like it used to. In all honesty, I think it's funny, because it's damn near impossible to take someone who uses the word or defends it seriously.
