Tech N9ne will never surpass ICP sales nor will he ever have as much fame as them. One ICP album has sold more than Tech has his entire career.

Industry buzz? Let's see...don't hear anything on the radio, nothing on BET/MTV's websites video selection. Where exactly is this buzz coming from?

Also controversial? It's hard to be controversial when most casual rap fans don't even know who you are.

And yes I realize he's a fan of all music but Everybody Move is a horrible song with no originality whatsoever.

i bet you they wont surpass their own as a strictly indie label.

ICP will never in their lives again go platinum.

they havent went platinum since '99

they only did those numbers because they have major distributors. island def jam and a few other. they were lucky

I don't know if Disco is an ICP fan or w/e but some of y'all are so hardheaded. He didn't even mention ICP music wise..all he did was say they got impressive numbers regardless of their quality in their product.

record sales has NOTHING 2 do with an artists overall success..
AM I TAKING KRAZY PILLS!! lol!!

let me rephrase this for those that just read this and not my other replies.. "record sales has NOTHING 2 do with an UNDERGROUND artists overall success" if u are insenuating that bekuz ICP sold more albums that makes them better or more successful, then i disagree.

yes, record sales are important but the numbers dnt determine who is or will be more successful in the long haul. so my original reply was biast & out of context. im now sober but frankly still dnt give a shit wat u haters say. lol.

Disco,

Yo what the fuck is up with you man, do you kick your dog and beat your girl too. Seriously though, how long have you been following Tech's career? How about Planet Rock, and a few others? This isnt the first dance song Tech has done. Tech IS a fucking dancer, anyone that has hung out with dude on a regular will tell you he dances so fucking much all the time that is almost gets annoying. He is a fan of all music, INCLUDING COUNTRY, he is gonna have songs that appeal to the mainstream, and his "loyal" fans. The cat's career is coming together just like he has dreamed his whole life it would, doing the kind of music he wants to do. He will surpass icp's sales and I am gonna say easily, he is getting hella promo everywhere, in print ads and everywhere else. There are interviews being set up for the release now, and there will be a industry buzz over the album, especially with some of the controversial songs on there.

Get over that shit, I had to when he started appealing to the fucking juggalos.

oh yeah............and quit hatin.
Co-Sign! Good words...

your basis of comparison is like that of a dog vs. kat. people who hate kats will always bet on the dog. you sir think you are coming at this forum intellectually based off a theory of what you THINK.. did you not see my previous reply??? people dont like to speak on or advertise what they are scared of.. it speaks for itself in other ways.. record sales isnt what speaks to strange music.. its the sell out crowds, its the loyalty.. its the growth, its so much more!! tech is just one person to admire.. not a bunch of clowns to which whom individually have their own set of fans.. no disrespect to icp.. though i am not a fan of their music but still have respect 4. regardless of what... you are basing techs future on record sales.. haa!!! anyone will tell you that is not where the money is 4real. i can guaranteeeeeeee that icp has less download activity then tech does!!! hench my whole tangent on CLOSET fans.. come out come out where ever you aree.. we see u!!!

"people love a nigga, they just dont wanna admit it"!! icp fans will always be icp fans.. but there is no room for growth, PERIOD! remember who has continued to grow... remember who is a leader.. remember who has brought u to this forum to speak about him weather it be negative or positive.. u are here because u are part of his following.. you are part of it.

u prove nothing here.. tech is so much more then a record sold homie..
Uh alright, all you did there was go on a tangent about how much you hate about ICP instead of addressing the topic at hand, Tech N9ne's success in terms of album sales and popularity, which this thread directly ties into.

Tech is bigger than ever and has come a long way but obviously he's fed up with the game since he's been in for so long trying to build tech N9ne and mainstream hasn't gone Tech yet and Tech is thinking about wanting out according a few of his songs off killer. Support your artist and have some faith in Tech. Peace.
I do support Tech, I'm just discussing him in terms of mainstream success, since a thread about him being on MTV...err MTV 2 directly ties in with that.

Their last 3 albums have debuted @ 15, 12 and 20 on the Billboard Top 200. Tech N9ne will never see inside 20. Not being a "hater" just being realistic.

Also indeed DeAdLyPoTaTo I like how the second I start a conversation about Tech in terms of the mainstream, people have to twist it into some musical debate. Stay on topic.

I like Tech where he is now.

I don't want to be going to little girls MySpace's and seeing Tech N9ne's music.

Once something becomes popular it's no longer just your music, it's everybodies music and it looses some of it's charm.

That's a completely selfish thing of me to say but just how I feel personally.

I seen mlk and everready, mlk commercial was nice the er may have just been a fye commercial but i seen them
Well, I don't actually watch BET or MTV at all, except for the random Rob & Big or Jackass. They don't air promo commercials during the early afternoon, so that's probably why I've missed them entirely.

Here is where I'm torn in this discussion. I completely agree.
I would love for Tech to be the biggest rapper in the world, but I would hate it.
