You can think that way, fine I really don't care. If you think that if 40 don't sell somebody else in the bay is going to blow? I know I'm supporting though. You making like you gving the man a million dollars how hard is it to spend 12 dollars?

40 is way past his prime...he will never be on the level he was in the 90's. Why would I support an album that is complete garbage IMO. Maybe if the bay would put out some quality and ORIGINAL music instead of tryna to be like every other region we'd get some recognition. If you ain't feeling it, fine it's coo don't buy it. But because of your feeling don't discourage anyone else from buying it. We been doing "our own shit" for years and NEVER got play. Not even on our own radio stations. I like the Hyphy movement. It's opening doors for many bay area talent. I don't think that this shit is only the bay. We have real deep MCS here I know that but we need this hyphy shit to get us through the door just like ATL had with crunk. You see that T.I is the KING of the south. We'll that can happen with the bay too.

i understand the point of view of if you don't like the music don't like the artist don't like the album = youre not going to buy it. that makes sense.

But you don't have to go around knockin other people's passion and good intentions of trying to help put Bay Area Music at the forefront of this music industry. Do I get anything out of the Bay Area Music blowing up?? not really besides a sense of pride that folks from all over the nation can finally experience the type of music i've learned to appreciate the past couple years. If you don't want to support you don't have to, i have the e-40 album, i think it is a 7 out of 10 personally but i'm still buying 2 copies just because i am a fan of e-40 and bay area music in general.

u might not give a fuck about all those stats..but i guarantee your favorite artist does, this music thing is their hustle we're just here to enjoy and support. LOOK, bottum line, If you like or used to like E40 and you have atleast purchased one of his albums legitimately in the past... thats all good. this new album needs the current fans new n old who appreciate what dude is doin to go out n buy that shit tuesday. and i would NOT be suprised if the number of NEW e40 fans outnumbers all his 'loyal' fans in the past 5 years... yall might be too old school wid it that ain't bad but don't knock what 40s doin for the bay cause its a beautiful thing they making $ and music that is rockin %80 of the bay whether u like it or not mayne

Hyphy is just a copy of the south's crunk style. It may not sound the same but it still has the same type of appeal and flash. Thats coo if thats your style but I never got into that crunk shit. I like music that sounds like its made by real musicians, not a 16 year old on Fruity Loops.

or oh i think they like me (NOT the bay version) or grillz....

those songs are the most played out right now.

don't get me wrong, i ALWAYS listen to KMEL and i hella like them, but what macdrizza said is hella true. they prettymuch only play bay music during mixes. but... whatever, at least they still repppppp it

in a way i agree... but i like to think some of this hyphy shit jus evolved from sounds for example from 3xkrazy... they had some tracks dat made people go dumb on the block bak in 97 / 98 n shit... regardless we all entitled to our own opins n pt of views man... and if u think rick rock or traxamillion beats sound like droop E's i have to disagree. i ain't one of them 17 year old aviator w the tags on, girbaud jean wearin cookie cuts either... i jus get sick of music stayin the same for too long, and yeah im sure ill grow out of this hyphy sound later down the line but for now this is the shit for me

i agree but 40's new album is hyphy without the melody in my opinion, for example that song "Hyphy" with Mac Dre and Keak was hyphy and had good instrumentation at the same time
