I don't give a fuck, and i'll say it: The new movement out of the Bay is hella gay.

You're not alone. I feel the same way. The "New Bay" / "Hyphy" sound has no depth behind it. Every single song is about thizzin and going hyphy at the club. Shit is played out.

Then yall should listen to the other shit thats out there. Every single song aint all bout gettin thizzn and going hyphy.

I agree. Also, take this into concideration. The niggas with the "New Bay/Hyphy" movement, finally understand the formula to get on the radio. We never really made club songs(except for a FEW people that did. E-40,Mac Dre ect...) So just like(and i know i might get it for this but) look at 50 cent. His club songs are NOTHING like his album cuts.

You might not like it, but like Bay folks been doing for years, you gotta respect and accept it. We finally got our asses on the radio, and its not because of fluke shit, its because they got the formula. Look at the Frontline. I can count 5 club songs they got on the radio. Look at E-A-Ski...how many songs that nigga produce that made it on the radio. Also Rick Rock.

Its more of a buisness type shit. Lemme explain it better. The bay area had that "Mob Mentality" all damn day. That gutter shit.(we still do dont get it twisted) But not everybody is built for the mob shit. If we can show the bay can have a good time, without having to be FROM the bay to understand it. Get it? If we can show the major's and plus the eastcoast or whoever(the south don't count. Most of yall dont know this but the south GOT LOVE FOR THE BAY. Look at Dj Screw for one, i have every tape he has out. And its ALOT of bay area songs screwed.)

These niggas are on their jobs and i am mighty proud. I am actually buying these cats albums. And I DONT BUY RECORDS. Even if i didnt hear it on the bootleg shit, i will still buy it. Because i see and respect, as a fan and artist what they are doing.

So i aint telling you you cant say you dont like it. Just see what the bigger picture is. Respect these dudes because on the real...from..99-late 2003 early 2004, was a plethora of garbage ass bay albums. These dudes are picking up off where the niggas that paved the bay way from.

this is my opinion though. I might be wrong.

ITS interestin that u attached Humpty's pic to ya post, cuzzinahmine. In his day HE was that outcast. Now in today's scene ,we tha outcast accordin to the rest of the country and even some our own residents. Think about this...Houstan niggas blew up off the screwed and chop'd joints and voice sampled-choruses, and I'm positive they had niggas critisizn' they shit at one time too. I agree that dudez ALBUMS should have more substance to it, but embrace the Bay for comin up with its own sound. Singles don't make an artist/album.
Point in case, peep this mixtape joint based off of COMMON's "The Corner" beat BAY AREAly renamed "The CORONER" http://www.myspace.com/silencemusic . Then check out the single "GET NUMB". A balance between spittery and club shit IS possible fa sho.

I personally never was into commerically driven music, or should i say a " gimmic" - get real. rappers need too make real music. enuff said.- i know rappers wanna be on the radio and all. but shits horrible, every damn bay songs is on the same topic... at this point i liked it better when rappers was actually rapping about shit, Not shit they do on saturday nights. dont get me wrong, that hyphy shit is cool, i just feel its a gimmic. ANYTHING WITH A COMMERCIAL APPEAL TOO IT, i aint down. - i dunno about u, i'd rather listen too a jacka song, a san quinn song or a hiero song. - but thats just me, it is what it is.

It really isnt that big of a deal if these cats are the radio, because thy're only on the radio HERE in Bay and not anywhere else in the nation. Its great the radio is suportin local cats but it doesnt really mean that they're tight...
