How To Rip A DVD To MPG

I have a couple DVD's I would like to turn into .mpg files, but I don't want to pay for a program to do it. Are there any freeware programs that can do this for me? Any links to tutorials or programs will help. Thanks!

check out dvdrhelp.com they have a lot of good articles on how to do things like this. I dont remember how to off the top of my head.
