I know for me.. I'm quick to skip a track if the dude rapping has a voice I'm not feeling.. but not all the time. Gimme some feedback on how yall listen to rappers and judge their voices.

voice is very important..cuz thats what u hear mayn haha...a voice that compliments a delivery is even better... Take Pac, His voice grabbed you and the way he delivered like a military poet and rode a beat pulled u in...

u can also take someone like Luni Coleone.... his voice alone can pump somebody up..check that fully loaded track where the beat changes... his voice alone signifies energy

voice can be something hella distinct...like big lurch...As soon as he opens his mouth u know its him..

however some exceptions... are eminem when i first started listenin to him it was hard cause his voice is so nasaly and sharp...i felt his lyrics but not his voice...now he has improved.

i think voice is important...the more u can identify wit an artist the better

my thoughtz,

Damn I was likin Em's voice a lot even on Infinite! haha

Voice is so important... it defines character in a way. We got snoop with his laid back weed head voice, Yukmouth with his raspy bark straight G shit, and most of the mainstream dudes with their higher pitched vocals etc.

Can make or break an artist

Voice has a lot to do with it..if you are fortunate to have a voice that doesn't sound like a million other muthafuccas...then ppl gonna remember you whenever your music gets played...psd, 40, legit, dre, mall, cbo, cellski, etc..you know when they rapping...cuz their voice stands out...now take this new up n coming artist Jin...he got skills and all (happy to see a asian gettin props finally)...but man...that muthafucca sound like straight Eminem...so when I hear him...he don't really do much for me as a artist...because he doesn't have a voice that stands out...hopefully his lyrics will help him shine above all that...my 2 cents...

I think it's important. Cuz no matter how tight the beat is, or how tight you flow.
If you sound feminen like Eminem
or too gruggy like Keak da Sneak, you ain't gettin no play in my ride...

Voice is hella important, it helps the artist stand out kinda create there own sound (Jacka, Agerman, Pac, Gangsta Dre, Luni,Jadakiss,Lil FLip) the list goes on and on just think of the rappers that have there own sound...its mostly because of there voice or Production!
