how do you teach mic presence?

i know this lil homie who can rap his ass off whenever we just bullshittin but soon as we're in the booth, its a whole different story...

is it lack of confidence or wha? how do you teach confidence?

i could always show him my way but i cant put it into words, any insight would help...thanx

you cant...it comes with the experience in the booth....you have to give him room to express himself...no one can teach him how to express himself on the mic.

just tell him it's hella good, and that you wanna record it a few times to get it perfect, he'll get better
