do ya'll wonder how cum 50 cent is so successful when he's jus an average rapper? wut r ya'lls views?

i think it has shum 2 do wit music goin in2 different phases. first off bottom line: NEW YORK RUNS THIS MUSIC BUSINESS. they got bet, mtv, and the source. new york's music has been infested wit tha bling bling, cristal, hos in every video bullshit for tha longes. i live in atlanta and folx down here listen to mostly that shit (if it ain't tha crunk shawty stuff). when i bump sum west coast shit (street shit) folx be lovin that shit cuz it's shum different than they accustomed to. bottom line, tha media keeps bumpin that bling bling shit in2 they ears, so they "adapt" to it and they shtart likin it. well if u come at em wit shum different then, it will appeal to em.

my opinion is that 50 is from new york so he gonna get that "promotion" from video play and mags cuz they eas coast, automatically. dre got a huge part to do wit it cuz he's dre, em got a huge part to do wit it cuz his (no offense) "white" fan base, and then u got 50. that foo cum out street. people sicc uv that bling bling shit, it's too repetitious nowadays so 50 is street....he's different.

maybe it's time for tha west to blow up.

so how cum u think 50 blew up so big? ya'll agree wit me?

50 cent blew up cuz we as rap fans and music fans are lookin
for something fresh. something new. and he is the new hip face
out there. its not just doctor dre and thats fa sho. Proof
is look at Knocturnal. lol there u go. no one bought his album.

50 cent has music that all coasts can listen and feel. yes
he has a average flow, well nuttin special. just a regular
rapper. but its his time now. Hooking up with Em and Dre
helps a lot and gurls love "in da club" and "wanksta" that song
got the sickest beat i remmber the first time i heard it on wild 94.9
i wuz like dang thats a tight ass song vfery catchy.

but the hype helps him out. and everyone agrees unless
they are haters that GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN is a great cd and
prolly teh album of the year. 50 is afresh face to a lot of ppl
and we all wnat something new cuz we tired of the same ol shit.

50% 50 cent (shum different cumin from new york/real thug from new york)
25% dre (good production, his name)
25% eminem (his name)

mostly cuz of eminem but its also got a different feel to it.....people like new trends....most likely its cuz of eminem tho cuz the only people i see round here bumpin it are the same people who would be playin eminem in their hondas lol....college girls be lovin it too cuz of eminem....without eminem and dre behind him tho he wouldnt be doin shit....50 even said he jus got a call one day sayin eminem wanted to meet him right now he likes his shit...then few days later dre was already workin on beats for him, it all happened pretty quick...why else would he get hot within a matter of pretty much like a month or 2.....50 all the sudden got all this jewelry so he could go on tv and make himself look good, he came on rap city flossin his chains and to people that makes him look like he was already doin somethin....anyways 50 is coo to me but i am gettin tired of hearin bout him

50 has been on all the mixtapes for years. He's certainly paid his dues. But I think a lot of y'all are forgetting that the public doesn't look for the best word play in a rapper. More important are flow (how he rides the beat), voice, and image. His 'I don't give a fuck' image is the same thing that brought 2pac a lot of his fans. Certainly 2pac wasn't the most innovative or tounge twisting rapper, but his work always had emotion and he had that one of a kind image. 50 cent is marketing himself in much the same way. So with the promotional forces of Dre and Em behind him fully, he's bound to blow up.

its not dre fa sho. half da ppl buyin his album don't know
dre produced some of the songs! girls like IN the Club but
they don't like the rest of the album. cuz its gangsta rap.

da track da girls do like is wanksta in da club and
that song "if i can't do it then it cna't be done" and da
song with nate dogg. thats the girls that i know who bought it.

How mnay ppl buy a cd cuz of a producer lol? not that many
even if u name is andre young or Pharrell Williams and chad hugo.

would u buy a cd cuz Cool and Dre or trackmasters or mike dean
or rick rock produced it? mabe if ur hardcore music fan but
the general public aren't into producers but artists.

Rakim isn't he with Dre now? is his album gon sell a lot of units
just cuz Dre is producing it if he is?

MTV and BET and KMEL and HOt 97 and all ur local stations in da country
are da ones promoting 50 to the fullest. hes gettin all this
great promotion. hes on talk shows and everything. HIs
record company is hyping him up also. Eminem has more to do
with his success than dre record sales wise.

he came out at the right time... usually this is a rebuilding time of year...

Radio embraced 50 due to the high level relationships that Dre, Em, Aftermath, Universal, Interscope etc.. have with them.. from there they fed the public and the public wanted more thus requesting both songz and makin him very popular... I admit it happened pretty quick from the point he signed with Em to what's goin on now. He's a rebellious type of character and folks are eatin it up. Murder Inc tried to take him down and salt his name, but that only seemed to elevate his stature that much more...

man... 50 is a replacment for MASE... sounds just like him, and the rap game needed another MASE. Dre and Em got funds... with money u can do almost anything, his album did so well cuz of that club song... he might be a 1 hit wonder, but i guess we gotta wait and see huh?
