ummm, your asking this, 7 and a half months into the year? shouldnt it be "how can the bay area rappers take over in 2010"?

Amen

The only way bay rappers will EVER take over for any year is until they can stay out of jail, stop being mediocre rappers, talking only about money, gang bangin, girls, cars, glamour, and bury the turf shit and quit being so divided and make bread. Plus the autotune and swag music NEEDS TO GO AWAY. People want to hear lyrics! Not hear about someone talk about their cars or chain around your neck. Cash Money was doing that in the 90's, find something else!

Back in the 90's you had guys like Richie Rich, 4 Tay, 3x Krazy, The Delinquents, E-40, The Luniz, Luni Coleone, X Raided, Brotha Lynch (Eventhough they werent bay area), Mac Dre, Killa Tay, San Quinn, Messy Marv, and so many more doing compilations together and making BREADDD! 17 Reasons was the prime example when the bay was on. And rappers need to stop being like the south and stop biting. The south and every other coast wanted to be like the west and now were biting off the south. Its backwards

Once cats can step up to the plate and unite everyone from every hood, and start being creative with their words and not be mediocre rhymers then the bay can take over. We have the beats, but the rappers just aren't standing out as much as they used to.

Plus the politics took over and the game isnt the same from 10-15 years ago, local radio isnt fuckin with local artists like they used to.

We are half way through 2009 so it aint happening this year.
BUT I think that everyone who even THINKS of being a rapper MC or whatever needs to fuckin practice his craft before even gettin close to a mic. Oh, and stop having all your boys on stage when you do a show, while you drinkin and spillin your drink all over yourself while "rappin". Practice your shit and learn muthafucka... Hammer did it, Short STILL doin it, 40 doin it... Practice, be tight with it and leave the bullshit alone.
Nice recipe.

The bay need to get back to making better music with quality production. In the 90's that's what the bay was known for. The production of music is getting lame, because everyone's uses the same producers. Bay area rap music is like a non winning football team right now. The bay area team needs new players, coaches, etc..Keek aint ever comin out, e40 is done, etc...Cats is getting sick of hearing them niggas real talk.

Only cat that is getting out doing things that I see is Berner. Dude doing his thang. His lyrics and that good and all that, but he has quality production, and knows how to hustle his music. That's one thing these southern niggas know how to do..

say no to drugs.. Everybody on dope like its the thing to do. I been downtown frisco everyday pushing cds this week and everybody I run across and talk to dame near on drugs. The new rap generation is on heavy drugs. When did playing with your nose become the thing to do. Cats is popping pills snorting pills putting pills in bottles come on man when you take it there that means you have a drug problem. You don't see weed heads trying to find a way to snort weed or shoot it up. Cats on bo and H that shit isn't coo.

I agree these days hella cats are strung the fuck out.
That shit aint real... cat's wanna be this, wanna be that, but don't wanna put in work. Everybody can't wear white tees and baggy pants ALL THE TIME, then claim to be original?
Uh.. no, you look and sound just like the last 50 nigs that came before you. To me Bay music is really on some disposable shit right now.. nothing memorable.

The thing is this, people claim that there isn't nobody spittin that gas and thats bullshit. Its more than that, its because we don't support our own.I can name a few off the top of my head that spit gas but I ask people about them and alot of people don't know who they are.

It seems like we can't support nobody, we rather just hate on each other. Its hard to network with people, I myself see how the game is.

You have to be out for self because you can't depend on the next man for shit, and thats just life. So we will never succeed because we can't get behind 1 person.

Not to be name dropping like that, but lets take Mistah Fab. You can't tell me Mistah Fab don't be gassin but yet in still people rather hate on dude, then go and support him. But thats the bay for you. Its not enough support for our artists, no matter how many star features they have or their lyric content or beats.People in the bay hate on our artists but quick to support some weak shit from ATL

mob music

there is no defined bay area sound right now. everybody is just following mainstream trends. go back the roots. find some producers who dont use fruity loops and start making real music again.

thats the only thing that will seperate the bay in my opinion. what do they have to lose? its not like the shit they are making now is getting them sales anyway. why not go back to what you know best and make classic bay area music.

It's impossible for Bay Area rappers to take over because they don't even have the support of their own region. No matter how good a song or album is, Bay Area "fans" will find a reason not to support it. LMAO and then those same fans complain about the Bay not getting respect and recognition.

^^Cats been doing drugs since day one, and that's never gonna stop. Ur just old enough to peep game. That has nothing to do with music, and you're getting into there personal life. I can name a few artists in all music genres that did drugs, and were the best at that time. Cats just need to make quality music neph.

Shit, I'm on drugs right now!
