It does matter because our artists don't get no love in our own area!! Even tho the bay is in the top 5 markets in music period. Esp for hip hop and r&b but it seems like people in our own area rather support artists from other area's.

NYC play their local acts, LA do too, and esp the ATL. But why can't we have more local music being played on prime time hours. Its because we don't really support our artists.

We force our artists move to other places to try to get put on. But at the same time, we have some of the biggest indie labels in the industry. Local albums do move numbers, like at that J Stalin Gasnation, and just recently The Jacka.

Y'all might think 5000 in the first week at shit, but for an indie that indie gold. The bay have a hustle like no other. We all forced to hustle out here, shit there ain't no jobs out here esp in Oakland. You got to have a side hustle, hustle mentality is here. Its just in our nature esp if you grew up in Oakland, Richmond, Vallejo, SF. Nah mean, you got to hustle.

But the bay will be back. I truly believe that. We ran shit in the early 90's, we will be back.

It's impossible for Bay Area rappers to take over because they don't even have the support of their own region. No matter how good a song or album is, Bay Area "fans" will find a reason not to support it. LMAO and then those same fans complain about the Bay not getting respect and recognition.

politics we got the most haters in the country here. that's why we named them player haters. but straight up and down, niggas need to make better muzik and work with each other. and flood the radio with it. KPOO, 106, disco ass 949. whatever the fuck, if niggas had albums out when "tell me when to go" dropped we would have been in demand. kinda like when this country shit dropped, you couldn't escape it. all those bumpkins was droppin shit back to back. we need to surround the country with our shit. and somebody said mobb muzik, I think that might be it. with a touch of 2009. most of the shit the south comes up with sounds like old bay shit, with those cheesy mannie fresh drums.

Obviously he's doing more out here than these other bay niggas. He's still getting it in this economy. He's living the "recession proof" life. The bay needs to create another image. That "stupid, dumb, hyphy" movement is sorta played out now. I mean, technically not. Because when mothafuckas think of the movement, none other than the bay comes to mind, but you need to create a movement, or bring one back, that'll catch your audiences attention. Like the NewBoyz brought back "Jerkin" but just switched it up a little bit. And that was just lil niggas fucking around in their closet, and ended up on BET. Common now, ya'll gotta be smarter than that. Stop making songs about chicken noodle soup, purple and granddaddy, and all that bullshit. You can't rap for your community if you wanna be heard, you gotta rap for the world. And not everyone has the same taste and think alike.
