To me it depends on the artist. I bump Digital Underground religiously, and they haven't put anything new out in years. On the other hand, I listen to the new stuff to, ex: Mistah Fab and Locksmith, so to me it's all based on personal preference.

yup i listen to older shit for the most part..old lynch..old master p shit(down south hustlers...earlier solo shit)..i bump woodies old shit..and some of the newer shit like after 2000....

i bump old 40 water..old blegit..spice1..shit..mac dre old shit..i mostly bump shit from mid to late 90's..but some newer shit still gets play(devin the dude..newer mac dre..etc)

the only newer stuff i find myself listening to is down south shit. There are a few here and there, messy marv's newer shit is ahead of it's time, but I mostly bump older shit. Even R&b isn't nearly as good as it used to be, both rap and R&b sound too much like pop nowadays. I stay bumpin older rap and soul

lately there has been a few releases that a can slap straight thru. but overall i luv to play music from around '99-'98 alot more. shit 4 of my favorite cd's that i slap alot are Yuk - "Thugged Out" , Messy Marv - "Turf Politics", Mess & Quinn, & Bully's Wit Fully's

i will always bump old shit... i can never get tired of it especially since so much came out during that time... however... recently things have been picking up and i am loving the production on the newer shit...
