Although the AL should have put ONE ball in the outfield when they had the bases juiced with no outs, they got robbed in that last half inning, first with kinsler being called out at second (he was safe, tag didnt even touch him) and then navarro being "thrown out" at home. both umpires just called them out because they assumed they would be. Navarro's foot hit home plate before Martin tagged him.
That shit happens all the time in baseball.. the tag rarely has to be made.. Just like on double plays you rarely have to actually touch second base..

They just let it go... The announcers were stupid for mentioning it all the time.. If the throw beats you, and you put the tag down before the runner is there, they are going to call him out.

Even if u put it down, the point of the tag is to have it touch him before he hits the bag, or overruns or whatever. Otherwise why would people try to barrel thru the catcher? Because even if he tags u, u could knock the ball loose. I understand that they do it all the time, and obviously they just ASSUMED they would be out, but why play the sport if that sorta thing is gonna be based on assumptions? or even lay a tag down?

Its just something that happens all the time.. Its accepted. The players don't even complain about it because they know they were beat.. Though on the steal, he did complain.

But its like that from high school on up for the most part.

The umps a lot of times can't even tell from the angles they are at, either. Camera angles get a lot better views because there's so many, but there are only four umps. Baseball is half-acting. If you put the tag down, pull the ball up and show the ump and you beat the runner, he is going to call the guy out the majority of the time.
