i'm assuming you're hooking up your HD-DVD/blu-ray player on a separate TV than your PS3? kinda odd for you to be getting the combo when you already have the blu-ray otherwise
I dont want to wear out my lasrer in the PS3 too much on just movies, but I do have two HDTV's in my apartment...
HDDVD is not gonna do shit. pretty soon its gonna be 5 studios to 2 in favor of BluRay....How long can that possibly last?
Thats why this is sweet. You cant go wrong if one dies out, becuase it supports both...
^^^exacly. and who is gonna wanna support HD DVD on a limited collection dvds? oh look the daddy the new PIXAR movie is out on dvd will you get it for me. oooh im sorry baby we have an HD DVD player looks like we cant get that. but ill tell you what im gonna do, ill get that for you on VHS!!! lol.
HD DVD/Blu-Ray players are backwards compatible and can play DVD's. Not to mention, most should have upconverters in them to help smooth out the edges in DVD viewing.
im suprised no one has mentioned how expensive the DVDs are too. im not looking to spend over 30 bucks for one fucking movie.
I went to HMV in Vancouver over the weekend and they had SEVERAL deals where you get two BR/HD DVD movies for $50 or under (and the american dollar and CA dollar are about the same right now).
For a total of $800 (+ tax), you get a DUAL player, with an upconverter in it, that utilizes HDMI 1.3...not bad if you ask me, especially when it was originally going for $200 more.
