I met Mac Dre in downtown Oakland he came threw to a burrito truck we was at and started handing out Treal TV DVDs I wasn't even the type of nigga to ride another mans coattail so I got my free copy and cut,I wish I woulda chopped it up wit him a lil longer.
I have to know, does that Burrito truck have the Mac Dre Stamp Of approval on the fender now?

As nice as it sounds to say "any CD with a mac dre approval should send proceeds to his kid" lets be real, most of these CDs aint making any money period! Cuz most of em are garbage!
Really, I don't know a single person coppin Thizz cds or downloading Thizz cds for that matter, DRE was and is Thizz and Thizz STOPPED putting out new DRE material a long time ago

So my question is HOW is Anybody making money off somebodys label that aint makin money ? and WHO is getting money off DREs name?

Diggs and Mall might sell a few units but Who else is on thizz? (Retorical)

It don't matter to me nobody I wanna hear unless its the three people I mentioned earlier

They probably aint makin much scratch off the music, but they need a way to cover up all that $$$ they bringing in from all these lil shitlins buying thizz. DRE made it a lifestyle but after he was gone some motherfuckers turned it in to a marketing campaign, shits fun in moderation but i got a lot of folx who gone off the deep end doing that shit too much. Now you got 6th graders poppin thizz thinkin there the shit...

been waitin for this thizz movement to overdose for a while now so another star like Dre can take it in a new direction, anytime you get too many people doing the same thing shit gets old fast

another thang

Mac dre was one the main ones who put the bay on the map outside of cali along with ray luv, 4tay, RBL, and JT.

Not taking anything away from spice 1, 40 water or short dog bc they superstars. but the artists above repped it to the fullest.
Too Short and E-40 both had major record deals and have both gone platinum - which would mean they have most likely sold the most units OUTSIDE of the bay; hence, they are the ones who put the Bay on the map outside of Cali. Too Short has appeared on Jay-Z's albums, Snoop Dogg, Lil John's, etc. E-40 has also collaborated with numerous mainstream artists and had a few appearances and videos in rotation on BET's 106&Park and MTV. He did his thing back in the Federal/In A Major Way days and then recently put the spot light on the Bay again with Tell Me When To Go and U AND DAT.

I agree that Mac Dre's hyphy/thizz movement drew spotlight on the Bay Area, as well. But, I don't think 4Tay, RBL, and JT even come close to exposing the Bay Area nationwide in a way that E-40 and Too Short have. Local celebrities? That they are, but as far as nationwide, most people outside of the Bay Area have never even heard of RBL Posse, Rappin 4Tay, or Jt The Bigga Figga.

but i'm saying, you dont got people all on biggies or puns nuts with "biggie presents"

why cali got to be always riding the next man? CALI INVENTED STYLE to rap.

i think what a lot of people don't understand about mac dre and thizz when he was pushin that line is that mac dre was a weirdo, crazy, evil genius, jimi hendrix type.

what i mean by that is that your average motherfucker can't duplicate the concepts he had on speed dial. your average bay rapper don't understand that dre was in touch w/somethin most people can't pick up on.

you have a whole generation of bay rappers and kids in general thinking making Ts w/their hands and eating ecstasy makes them like mac dre, so they pick up a mic and say the same shit lames from all over the country say when they pick up a mic because they don't understand the world like mac dre understood the world.

it's not dre fault that even the people close to him can't duplicate the genius he had, and it's not their fault that they feel like they gotta carry on his name after his death. it's just another fucked up situation, it's not going to get better but i guess the silver lining is that if dre was around, shit would be different. that's the tragedy too because dre had so much potential. that's thizz situation.

the bay situation gets better when a rapper who has concepts and the genius that dre had comes along and has time to develop and say what he has to say w/o a sucka taking his life.
