So, to me, bein a hater is knockin another person's hustle or takin money out of their pockets....

i feel you....but actually hating is defined more deeper than just "talking shit"

example one would be under the classification of "shit talkin" or "talkin head"

hating would be "wow, MC dummy actually got a deal? i heard he dont even write his own shit?"

a true hater is one who doesnt use actual hate words, its like beating around the bush "shit talking".

awww, its a thin line u walk when ur voicin ur opinion or hatin. i think a common form of "hatin" is when a thread is started to give props to an artist and somebody spends their precious time to reply to tha thread by criticizing (sp?) tha artist.

but then again there's been PLENTY times i read a thread talkin HELLA good bout tha artist and when i BOUGHT tha album it turned out to be babbage. so those are tha times i wish there was a "hater" to have warned me bout tha album.

i dunno, it's a no win shituation. u cant really draw tha line sometimes. fold.

"Hater" has lost it's meaning just like "pimp", "player", "hustler", etc.

A lot of cats are too brittle these days. Can't handle truth & honesty without getting all upset and what-not so it seems like there's only two choices... Dick-rider or hater.

Opinions don't exist anymore thanks to these little cotton-softs.

I think that people like to feel like they're doing something special enough that would cause someone to "hate" on them. Mufuckas use this "don't knock another man's hustle" shit as a crutch when the term "hater" gets thrown around. Hustle, shmustle - quit bein a bitch and learn how to take some criticism.

If you're in the music business, everybody aint gonna like your shit... Let's say I played some of my beats for one of y'all. Let's say you didn't like them and instead of giving an honest opinion, you go the cliche route on me and say "I aint gon' knock another man's hustle" and give me no opinion. That can be looked at as you don't want to tell me what's wrong so I can make it better. To me that's hating more than just saying, "I wasn't feelin your shit".

BUT ... (I have to remember)

Most people don't think like me. Their skin isn't as thick as mine. So they take shit like that to heart instead of looking at what they could do to make shit better. Again, people want to feel special. They want to feel like they're doing something on such a grand scale that it causes another person to be envious - which usually aint the case.

Cats need to grow up . ..

I think this is the reason why wack ass people are putting out music. Think about it, there is no incentive for artists to better their skills because all negative critisim is brushed to the side as someone "hatin". If someone starts a "Paul wall is God" thread and I reply to it by saying that I think Paul wall can't rap worth a shit, then I get called a hater just for voicing my opinion. People act as if there are only 2 choices: hater or dick rider, wake up people opinions do count in the 05.
