I just got GTA4 for the PC, and I installed that shit and everything, but it runs hella slow. Lags so much, it pauses for like 5 seconds and at a time and then runs for one second and just does that. Now my computer isn't exactly a piece of shit but it's not great either, it's like a year old and meets the requirements and everything for the game. But what do I need to change to make the game run smoothly? Is it my video card or what? If so, which one should I get?

Lol, I had a 360.
It got the the red rings of death like two years ago, I haven't touched it since.

Shit, Now I have to return this game. Or maybe spend more money on upgrading my computer.

Does anyone know what specific hardware I would need to upgrade to where my computer is good for running a game like GTA 4?

Video-
NVIDIA® GeForce® 6150SE integrated graphics
Up to 128 MB of shared video memory
your pc will not run this game by any means.
you will need at least 1GB of video memory to run this game and thats the lowest i would say. your ram also plays a big part on this game. if you want smooth i say have at least 4gb of ram.

the 6150se is laptop integrated graphix if im not lying. so im positive you will not run this game smootly or over 2fps at any point on even lowest resolution and graphix settings.

this one of the main reasons i wont buy pc games anymore. i got tired of upgrading my pc for every game that came out.buy a 360 or ps3 and no upgrade needed. + it will save you the cost of a new card and ram

1GB of video memory? Hardly. 512MB is plenty. Not sure where you are getting that number. Even so, the amount of memory on your VGA card is only part of making games run smoothly.

Here is what the minimum and recommended requirements are for this game:

Minimum System Requirements
* OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
* Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz
* Memory: 1.5GB, 16GB Free Hard Drive Space
* Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900

Recommended System Requirements
* OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
* Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz
* Memory: 2 GB (Windows XP) 2.5 GB (Windows Vista)
* 18 GB Free Hard Drive Space
* Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870

You can run this game adequately for less than $400 (entire system).

@JasonZ-bottom line, you need to update your VGA card.
