Child support is one of the biggest reasons i know that people don't have bank accounts. I have heard stories of them ripping whole checks out of people's account and putting them in the negative. Also, some older people may have a bank account but don't put hardly any money in there. They remember the depression or were born right after. People lost everything when banks collapsed. They have racks sitting in some of those houses with older people. This electronic shit is scary too, also identity theft. Just think the 401k and IRA's we have might not be worth shit if America goes under. I'm trying to move all my money into a more stable dollar like the EUR or POUND. And a banks interest rate aint worth shit, there are way better investments out there.

it helps me save more when itz outta reach. Plus i got multiple direct deposits. I just act like the money aint there. when its really stackin. Im not gonna lie. I could come up on a shit load of bread off graphics or just get paid from my job. and blow that whole shit the same night. I got a big problem spendin money. So i felt this works better for me.
especially if i hit reno or lake tahoe. I won't even think twice about pullin more money out if im losing on craps..
and being i only got an ATM card for one bank helps even more.

Different interest rates/security/access
You can put extra money in a CD or online bank accout that you don't need immediate access to in order to get a higher interest rate. For example I have 3 account;
An online saving account to get the highest interest possible
A checking account to pay monthly bills out of
And a saving account at my bank for cash I may need immediate access to
I guy I work is a native american, and hes into all the old school traditions and hes like "My family and I dont trust the white man's banks" kinda shit, so he gets all his checks, he had about 45g's in his trailer he lives in with his dad (dudes like 35), until he came home one day and that shit was gone, i couldn help but laugh at him

If one doesn't already have credit established then how would one get a credit card without a bank account? All the folks I know without bank accounts have 0 credit whatsoever.
