im sorry but graphics is a competing business and its not like rap music where you collab and network wit other artists.....we dont need to support each other we need to step our game up to where people want our graphics more than the next artist......we all in competition......shemp aint gonna come on here and give someone props....he rather complain and talk shit about someones work sayin they bitin his style....why???? cuz its competition.....
well i've collaborated with other grafix artists and networked with plenty...maybe it wouldnt benefit u but it sure's hell benefited me. if complaining about someone elses work looking like yours helps u out then more power to u....thats like the bay complaining about other regions biting our style??? whats the point of that?????

wow.. lots of shots flying in this topic! lol

Truth is... there's too many people doin "covers" these days. It's oversaturated like the rap game. More power to everyone doing it, but take your time to truly learn the craft, instead of being a "cover" maker.

Me.. I've been a graphic dude since 1998...

I've done a shitload of work, but people always want the "plug." With the influx of designers, the "plug" is readily available. Like others have said... You get what you pay for. Deal with a person that knows how to take the project from start to finish.

I'm more into the corporate and fundraising side of designing now. Less competitive and more money in it. Good luck to everyone else.

You're trippin' if you think MadePro's work aint hot, PDG is supreme but MP ain't too far back if anything. But like you said he's your homie, so of course you're overley biased.
i don't think it's hot, and that's a personal opinon not based on my relationship with shemp. to me, covers washed out with one color palette have been passe. but whatever, art is subjective

Exactly!

When you get a graphic designer, you want to get someone who knows how to lay everything out in the proper templates for print, how to color correct/adapt to the gamma difference between the computer screen and an RGB glossy printing press, someone who knows what a pantone colors/pantone color guide is, etc, etc... Little shit most rookie designers don't always know about or know to think of. Skimping $300 on graphic design could lead to a $1200 fuck up if you have to get your CD repressed b/c something came out fucked up, or delays in printing to fix any errors. So trust me when I say you get what you pay for.

Also, graphic design is a process; graphic design is a relationship between you and the graphic designer where you have to get him to understand your vision of the cover and put that down onto paper. Sounds harder than it is and not all designers have that talent.

So not knocking anybody, just choose who you work with carefully.

No doubt, I am well worth it.

Just ask: J-Stalin, Tha Mekanix, Dem Hoodstarz, Lee Majors, G-Macc, Khayree....etc.
