A normal person wouldn't get life...someone I know killed someone driving drunk...he got 10 years.

I just want to know...if he was drunk...why did they let him go? That really doesn't make sense to me.

he was probably partying the night before and slept most of it off and "looked" fine...but they drew blood and supposedly its .12 (still not confirmed by police)...

if you have a case, then you have a case just like all other criminal shit...like sav' said lenorad little got off on a case CRAZY SIMILAR...that was lil back in the day and DUI shit has increased since....

we will see what happens....stallworth is one of those players i will allways root for no matter what team hes on....i hope the best for him..

hes not getting off if he was indeed over the limit but who the fuck knows. I mean most people would get life for this shit how can he get less then 10 years without being found not guilty
what?

some states have maximum penalties less than ten years for vehicular homicide.

if you dont have multiple dui's, a criminal record, or arent a poor minority youre gonna get a slap on the wrist compared to an actual "murder" case. vehicular homicide isnt punished nearly as harshly as you think. theres some special cases here and there but for every guy that gets 10+ years theres 5 more that dont do 2 years if any at all.

the maximum sentence under florida law is 15 years. this dude got money and lawyers and a fairly clean record.

you know what the sad part about this whole thing is? if this 59 year old man had been a poodle, pomeranian, pekignese, or pit bull there would be people outside of the nfl offices protesting right now. the news 24/7 would be talking about this and this alone. good thing it was only a human killed.

Still nothing confirmed…and supposedly he’s participating in the teams offseason workouts.

I wouldn’t be doing that if I thought I did something wrong…I would be spending my last few free days with my family.

MIAMI -- A pedestrian wasn't in a crosswalk when Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth hit and killed him with his Bentley, according to a report released Tuesday by police in Miami Beach.

According to the report, Stallworth told officers he flashed his lights to try to warn 59-year-old Mario Reyes, a construction crane operator who was rushing to catch a bus after getting off work around 7:15 a.m. March 14.

Police said Stallworth was driving about 50 mph in a 40 mph zone. They are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the accident. No charges have been filed against Stallworth pending the outcome of blood tests.

A police diagram shows that Reyes was hit in the far left lane of the six-lane MacArthur Causeway -- not in a nearby crosswalk. Stallworth stopped a few feet away.

Police also released calls from three people who dialed 911 that morning.

The first, a woman, said, "There's a man laying in the middle of the road." The dispatcher asked for her location and a description of the victim.

Then the woman blurted: "He's dead. He's dead ... He was just laying in the middle of the road. I think he's dead."

None of the callers apparently witnessed the accident. One man, saying he was on his way to work, said he "heard a hit" and then saw Reyes lying in the roadway. A few moments later, a police officer arrived.

Stallworth's attorney declined comment Tuesday but has said his client is cooperating with police. Stallworth last week released a statement saying he was "grief stricken" over the accident.

Stallworth signed a seven-year, $35 million contract with the Browns before last season but was injured most of the year. He was scheduled to receive a $4.75 million signing bonus the day before the accident. Before that, he played for New England, Philadelphia and New Orleans in the NFL and in college for Tennessee.

This might be his way out of this fucced up situation.

AP sources: Browns' Stallworth will be charged with DUI manslaughter
Associated Press

MIAMI -- Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth will be charged with DUI manslaughter after a Miami car crash that killed a pedestrian, according to people familiar with the case.

Two people with knowledge of the case said on condition of anonymity that the charges will be filed Wednesday against Stallworth in the March 14 accident that killed 59-year-old Mario Reyes. The people requested anonymity because the charges haven't been announced.

The charge carries a possible 15-year prison sentence.

Stallworth, 28, earlier released a statement saying he was "grief-stricken" over the accident.

Stallworth signed a seven-year, $35 million contract with the Browns before last season but was injured much of the year. He previously played for the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints.

that's what I'm saying...

If I'm sober...some dude runs across the freeway and I hit him....not my fault.

If I'm .08 or higher...it's my fault...

I could understand if it was a crosswalk...but not a freeway.
