Hell yeah I saw this shit!! Crazy night of boxing. I'll post the video (youtube) below.
You know I saw James Kirkland here at a Casino in Tacoma a few months ago, it was another ShoBox event. He was on the undercard and really impressed me, completely annihilated his opponent. I told the person I was with that this guy could be a champion one day, so I was looking forward to seeing him again. Well, Friday comes and he looks impressive once again. Even though he got knocked down, I think that's kind of a good thing for him....he now knows he can take a punch and get right back up. He has a total pitbull mentality, which is fun as hell to watch.
The other fight, Angulo. That shit shocked me. At first I thought Angulo was going to go down, a few punches later and it's the other guy getting dropped.
Very exciting night of boxing.
I think the James Kirkland - Conyers should get round of the year for sure, I think it's probably better than the first round of Bika/Codrington. I think it was way too short for FOTY though.
As of right now, my FOTY candidates are:
1). Vasquez vs Marquez and Jaidon Codrington vs Sakio Bika
(Both fights were so good in their own ways it's hard to pick a winner)
Full fight (3:35), James Kirkland vs Conyers:
Here was the first fight of the night,
Full fight (1:35), Alfredo Angulo vs Ter-Meliksetian:

I heard the Tarver fight was extremely boring. Tarver looked like he was in slow motion apparently. Although he did win by KO though....
As for Forrest, I read that he called out Mayorga after the fight yesterday. He wants a Trilogy. I keep forgetting that the only two losses on his record come from the hands of Mayorga.

Yeah I remembered that you said u hit that up. I watched that fight as well but I cant say I was overly impressed. Granted he's on the come up but he seemed a lil timid but as a result of lacking boxing skills. He did look better but I wont say he's that much better off cuz it only went 1 round. I think he's gonna have to get a new corner down the line.
Tarver is all hype. He got a lot of fame after beating a fading RJJ and hasnt lived up to it since. I think champions like Tarver are bad 4 boxing. The man looked bad against homie. He was fightin a regular Joe Blow and was gettin caught. He took way too long to get things going. He wasnt punchin in any type of combination. Basically he didnt show me shit to wanna watch him again and think he's at the top of the division. He's ESPN2 worthy.
