i think Pargo was a signing because at a 1 year deal he has expiring trade value. he's a veteran guy to use as trade filler if needed.

Tolliver signs with T-wolves
Not a huge loss by any means... I liked Tolliver, but he was another D-League find... Hopefully the Warriors can continue their D-League luck and find a few more solid players..... They need to sign a few more players this off-season to have a solid bench.........

I was thinkin damn... we let go of a whole 5 man rotation....

Watson, PG
Morrow, SG
Azubuike, SF
Randolph, PF
Turiaf, C

that's a nice bench right there... not that they could have afforded to keep them or acquired Lee...

I think Lee is gonna be dope for us....

I'm just excited as fuck that football is starting now, cuz we got that to watch, and then basketball starts before you know it.... and the Giants are lookin to make a playoff run... This will be a pretty interesting year for bay area sports fans......

Tolliver, a relatively unknown forward with 65 career games in the NBA, spent the last few days deciding between offers from the Timberwolves and Warriors. In a video entitled "The Decision: Part Deux!!" Tolliver spoofed all the attention given to James. "Um, I think I made my decision this morning while using the bathroom," Tolliver deadpans. After writing it down on a piece of paper to extend the suspense, Tolliver announces: "I will be taking my services to the north, the Minnesota Timberwolves" and holds up the ratty piece of notebook paper as a wolf howls. Don Nelson isn't returning to the Golden State Warriors ... until his new boss tells him to. Speaking by phone from his home in Maui, the coach whose future remains in doubt because of the team's impending ownership change said he remains in the dark as to whether he will be retained for the final year of his contract that is worth $6 million. "(I'm here) until I get a call to come home," Nelson said with a laugh Thursday when asked when he might return to Oakland, Calif. "I know nothing." FanHouse.com

Yet Nelson -- who has made it clear he hopes new owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber allow him to finish his contract next season before a certain parting of the ways -- mixed business with pleasure this week. He spent the day with Stephen Curry and his family, golfing during the day with the second-year Warriors guard and his father, Dell, then joining the families for dinner on the town and a visit to Nelson's waterfront home. "It was wonderful," Nelson said. "(Stephen Curry) is a wonderful young man. His dad was with him (on the golf course), and then we came over to my house here and spent time together with the family. It was wonderful." FanHouse.com

The Warriors are going to need to hire some assistant coaches. They lost another one Wednesday when Scott Roth, who was hired by the Warriors at the start of last season, confirmed to CSNBayArea.com that he had taken a job as an assistant coach with the Toronto Raptors. Roth has been an NBA assistant coach for seven-plus seasons, and also has served in a variety of other scouting and advisory roles. CSNBayArea.com

Andris Biedrins on finishing out his career with the Warriors “It’s very rare, that a player stays with one team. It’s very rare and every player travels during his career. It’s part of the business. It doesn’t really matter how good or bad you have played during the season. They actually wanted to trade me after the last season. Not this one, but the last, which was the best of my career, but it didn’t go through. So, I guess, if they trade me, there could be some nice changes involved, maybe I’ll be on a better team, with better teamwork. When the rumors came out last year about me going to Phoenix, I would’ve loved to play with Steve Nash. Also, the Phoenix team, the city, it was all fun to think about. With a point guard like that, the game is different.”

Andris Biedrins on NBA culture “The NBA is basically the second most popular sport in America after football. It’s just the mentality there. I can tell you right now, about our team, most of my teammates are egoists. But what can you do? It’s important to have good veterans as the rookies and young guys will take after them. Right now, I would say i don’t have a good relationship rather a neutral or friendly one with everyone on the team. I don’t have any problems with any player and I don’t think anyone has a problem with me. Of course, we aren’t real big buddies, but our relationship is on a professional level and we can work successfully.”

On Nellie commenting about his free-throw shooting “When he said I should practice underhanded; I felt very disrespected. At one point I spoke to a Psychiatrist who reminded me of some things, but it’s not so bad that they send you and try to brainwash you. It’s mostly about believing in yourself, because, before this season it was more or less OK. You start thinking about so many things at the free throw line that you forget everything and anything about the actual free throw motion and what you’ve practiced.”

Andris Biedrins on outsourcing his off-season training and rehab “It was me and my agent’s decision, we decided to go our own way. It’s a risk, but, at the same time, after the first injury early in the year, the Warriors said that it’s nothing special. When I had to do surgery, my agent and I, we were a bit disappointed, we thought that, maybe, surgery was the right course of action from the start. The franchise naturally tried everything to keep me in, because if I had surgery early on then I might have missed the entire season. We felt like the team made me play to quick after the first injury; so we decided to go our own way on this – our doctors and experts.”

Keith Smart the assistant was more important for you than Don Nelson, your head coach? Mickael Pietrus: Yes, I think he’s the most important for me in my entire career. He kept calling me in the playoffs and I told him that I don’t know how to thank him. Every time I go to play the Warriors, I give him a big hug because if it wasn’t for him, I’d be in Europe right now. Do you think he’s head coach material? Mickael Pietrus: Yeah, I think he could most definitely be the Warriors’ head coach ’cause he knows to talk to the players, he has a great relationship on the floor and off the floor and I think he would be a great head coach. I can’t wait for him to be a coach because he deserves it. He has a great personality and a great family. He would be one of the best coaches.

"Therefore, Nelson might be the answer for this season. He's under contract, and a few players, who want to remain anonymous, said they preferred Nelson over bringing in a quick-fix coach."

The Warriors announced their 2010-2011 schedule Tuesday morning, highlighted by the home opener against the Houston Rockets on Oct. 27 and a Christmas night tilt against the Portland TrailBlazers.

Golden State is slated to make seven national television appearances this season, with six games scheduled on ESPN's family of networks and one appearance on TNT.

Tip-off time for the majority of the Warrior's home games during the 2010-11 season will be 7:30 p.m., with the exception of four Sunday contests and one special Monday matinee.

The Warriors will play four of their first five games at home to begin the season before playing 20 of their next 30 contests on the road. Golden State will then play 18 of its next 22 games at Oracle Arena between January 7 and February 25, a stretch that is immediately followed by a season-long seven-game, 11-night road trip between February 27 -- March 9.

The repeated theme I’ve heard around the Warriors’ transition: Incoming owner Joe Lacob does not want to rush into anything. Or at least, he doesn’t want to be seen rushing into any decision, major or small, and he certainly is going to do everything he can to avoid any sense that he is being pushed into a decision. Particularly a major one like what to do about Don Nelson, Larry Riley or maybe even Robert Rowell (though I believe the Rowell decision is a lot easier to make swiftly than the other two).
San Jose Mercury-News

But what I hear is that Lacob does not want to come into this with any pre-set opinions about Nelson and Riley in particular, which means he might not make a move on either in the early-going of his tenure. The term I’ve heard: Lacob could give most of the significant Warriors employees a “test-drive” of some undetermined length, possibly at least through the end of 2010 and maybe into the 2011 off-season. The Riley call can be delayed, for instance, if Lacob is uncertain about the current available crop of hoops execs.

Stephen Curry sprained his left ankle near the end of Wednesday's scrimmage with Team USA.
The team is calling it a mild sprain and Curry is listed as day-to-day. He's competing with Eric Gordon and Russell Westbrook to make the final cut before the World Championships start on Aug. 28, so the ankle could prevent him from making the team.

Suns free agent big man Louis Amundson is drawing interest from the Hornets, Pacers and Warriors.
The Pacers do have some holes to fill up front, and would probably be the best fit for Amundson. They're also the team that is probably least willing to give him the money he's asking for.

warriors like amundson if his price drops into their range. they are waiting on that. the more time that passes, the cheaper players become.
