the lee trade had nothing to do with the new owners at all.

moves will happen before the offseason tho because we have expiring trade value contracts and a trade exception. whether they are major or not remain to be seen, but we dont need a major roster move, just major personnel moves.

The Lee trade was fascilitated by Cohans camp, the new group supervised all of it, and reserved the right to veto the move anytime they felt like it. Lacob and Gruber have a team monitoring everything Cohan does before he leaves.

They dont have a predetermined front office to plug in, theyre not going to tear this one apart right before this year. Lacob and Guber are looking to turn the warriors into the premier westcoast franchise over time, not jimmy-rig a team together to make the playoffs once.

how do you know what they have planned for personnel?

hiring a new coaching isnt "going to tear this one apart"

we'll see how things progress in the next 3 months until the season. september is enough time to fire and hire a new coach before the season, better than waiting til midseason to can the fucker and the season is gone already.

source? the article i saw said cohan/riley were in control of that on their own. lacob and gruber werent even the winning bidders when that trade went down.

Because most of the front office people were brought in by, or associated with Riley and Cohan etc. Theyve said theyre intention is to create their own franchise, with their own people. Like any business the new owners are going to look over and evaluate the goals and direction of every employee, which is business code for "most of you are getting fired so we can bring in our own people." Lacob said just today their goal is over time, to build a franchise, theyre not going to haphazardly install whatever people are available at the time.

Hiring a new coach isnt going to tear the team apart, I never said it was. Clearing house completely a couple months before the season would fuck with team operations, and if its something abrupt it could affect the mood and play of the players. Replacing the coach wouldnt be good right now, youre already paying nelly for the season, he's been the coach and has a relationship with the players and staff that cant be made up in 2 months with a new coach. They will keep nell for the season, and hire a new coach at the end of the season so he has the entire offseason to work with the team and familiarize himself with the players.

Lacobs mouth was the source. He told Greg Papa about 5 hours ago.
Rusty Simmons also tracked down Larry Riley to get confirmation that Lacob and Guber didn’t know about the Anthony Randolph/David Lee and trade and didn’t sign off on it. Despite Riley’s dramatic remaking of the roster without new owner approval — only days before the deal became official — it sounds as if the new owners will now be in the loop, at least unofficially.

Lacobs team had veto power over the trade per him, why would riley admit the current ownership needs to be babysat? He knows he works for a group that notoriously has their head up their own ass, and new ownership isnt going to not supervise something that could be fucking up their team and bottomline in the near future.

According to a high-placed source, the bidding groups had no influence, one way or the other, on the trade or the contract. Apparently general manager Larry Riley's only serious directive — from owner Chris Cohan — has been to keep the team under the luxury tax.

July 8th (a week before agreement to sell team to Gruber had been made)

i bet lacob said whatever u saw just to make cohan happy so the transaction goes thru for the sale. the new owners still have to not piss him off so the deal doesnt go sour like it did for ellison.

Wow, this makes losing CJ Watson so much better. How did we not catch this awesome news sooner???

The Warriors and free agent guard Jannero Pargo have reached an agreement on a two-year contract worth $2.4 million.
The undersized (6'1", 185 lbs) combo guard shot just 35% from the field with Chicago last year, and isn't likely to see much action in the GSW backcourt.

i dont get it at all. its not like they were worried about having too many guards. getting rid of morrow is one thing, but watson? why? i know its "about money" but what are they saving over all, 1.5 mil (since thats about what lin + pargo will cost), but bell's contract is big, so i just dont get it.
