The Universe is not infinite. Space curves(so you can never reach the end of the universe), but indeed it has limits.

It's been well known for decades that the universe is finite, but only somewhat recently have they understood that the universe will expand forever, with the implication being that the eventual fate of the universe is to have no stars, galaxies or planets, but in their place, random particles transversing the new universe at temperatures very close to absolute zero.
