I always called my father by his real name.

I called my mom mommy for dumbass long until I thought it was childish.....although my mom, aunts & uncles still call my grandmother mommy.

I had this friend who's mom used to make her call her mama and said poor people call their momma's mom. I was like, WTF? That bitch was crazy though, ha, it was really funny when she lost her big old nice house on the lake and ended up in a trailer with her oldest son... dumb bitch. This thread made me think of that.

Anyway... I thought my friend callin' her mom momma was weird, thought it was a Texas thing (that's where they came from) until my friend actually told me why she calls her mom momma. I thought it was funny and used to make fun of her for it, but once I learned she was forced to do it, I was like, "Wow, yer mom is fucked in her head."

My son calls me "Papi"...but he's 3 and Mexican. Lately, though, he's been either trying to say "Pop" or "Pa"...,but I think it's "Pop".

If he calls me "Papi" past his 5th birthday, he'll get the ol' ostrich-skinned belt, ya' dig?

LOL

Nah...it's what he learned, what he was taught, from my wife. I don't mind; the only thing that he's not allowed to call me is by my first name. LOL...make me feel like step-daddy or something. LOL

Most the time, though, he just says "HEY!"
