My shit is too fucked up too, maybe 1 outta 20 movies will play all the way through. and you know that little blue circle of blue sphere's when you start the shit up, yeah normally there is like eight, I have one and it just chills there, piece of shit...I took the fuckin thing back to get it replaced, cuz I bought a 1 year warranty, and the fuckin thing expired two days prior, I was like "FAWK".

The ps2 dvd player is a worthless piece of trash. Somethin like that used to happen to me all the time too so I just said fuck it and bought a real dvd player.

yeh, that DVD player i always have to turn the TV all the way up to hear the shit and its always poppin and hissing and shit. i hate it.

OK, my PS2 was doing the exact same thing. Every time I would try to play a game it would read "disc read error." Like you, I had to reset it about 20 times b4 it started to work......Dont ask me why but my lil' bro said that if you turn the PS2 on its side, it wont have trouble reading the games n shit......Well, lo and behold I turned the PS2 on its side, and then put in a game, and I have not seen the "disc read error" message since then......So instead of setting your station flat like its sposed to be, try turning it on its side and then put in the game and see if that works.

Good lookin' out on that homie. That seems to have remedied the problem, atleast temporarily. Hopefully this will extend its life before I fuckin' chuck that piece of shit in a dumpster. It's a good thing it worked sideways because it was about to fuckin' get buried.......

Glad to see its workin.....You really shouldnt have anymore problems with the disc read error shit now.....I turned mine sideways about 4 or 5 months ago and its been gravy ever since.

And you should see what I have to do with my Dreamcast.....When I put a game in, I have to turn it upside down for it to work.....These fuckin systems are wacky.

man i wanna do that....but i got dust in mine in the front lil grill at the bottom but especially in the fan in the back i tired cleanin it with a vaccum but its useless the dust is like glued to it lol...i'm wondering if they'll open it up an look at it an with that different serial number shit not matchin....

They wont check the serial number. Most stores don't care because it's not their loss, it's sony's loss for selling them a defective product. The only risk you take in doin the switch is that some stores wont refund your money anymore, they'll either give you another playstation or they'll give you a store credit.

You could just call the # on the waranty and they'll tell you to send it back and they'll fix or it send you a new 1. The same shit happened to my neighbor and they sent him a brand new 1.

If you want to do it the legit way, sony had a class action lawsuit against them cuz this shit always happens with the ps2. They have to repair them for free if you send it to them.
